I am trying to decide what to do, we have the pirate cruise booked, but I just read about the Family Magic Tour and it sounds awesome! We've got tons of fun things planned and I don't want to overwhelm my boys with too much fun!

I am debating between the same 2 things. My husband doesn't want our children to do the Pirate Adventure w/out us AND our youngest is 4yrs.

A good friend of mine (who LOVES Disney and goes A LOT) said both are wonderful! I am leaning towards the Family tour only because it would be fun for all of us at the same time.

Curious to see what others think - sorry I can't help you make your decision!

DH and I are taking DS 6 and DS 4 to WDW in April. The boys are already booked for the Pirate Cruise which I got the suggestion from this site.

I just read some reviews from All Ears about the Family Magic Tour and want to do it!! I'll have to talk to DH about it first but I know the boys would love it!! They love Hook and Peter Pan so it would be a dream come true for them. Now I'm extremely excited again!!!

We did both this past December. My kids 10 and 6 said the pirate cruise was the best. They really liked the family magic tour but the Pirate cruise was magical for them

I asked DS5 and he said he didn't want to do either, he said he just wants to do the pirates ride and the other rides he likes. Maybe I should take a hint from him and stop over planning! DS3, by the way wants to do both, not knowing of course that both are not an option for him.

I went ahead tonight and booked the kids on the Pirates Cruise. DD 5 and DS 6. I could not get the day that I originally wanted, but then decided on the last day that we are at WDW. That way DH and I can have some down time and the kids can have one last amazing adventure.

Not sure that DH would be that into the Family Magic Tour, but I might give it a try the next year when we go and the kids are a little older.

Now I am trying to decide if I want to also try to get the kids into the Wonderland Tea Party, I think that they would have a great time with that one also.

DS did the Pirates Cruise in 2004, when he was 7 and we just did the FM Tour in Jan 2006, he was 9. He said he really liked both & couldn't compare the 2 because they are 2 different things. He said he would take another (different) cruise if it was the Albatross or the new one at CBR but probably wouldn't the PC again because he had already done it.

I asked if he'd ever like to do the FM tour again and he said yes, because there would be different people, other families and probably a different CM leading the tour so it would be different and fun.

The one thing to remember about the FM tour is that you are not guaranteed to have the PP, Wendy, Capt Hook storyline--it can be different. During the same week we were there we saw other characters at the end of a tour interacting with the families, so that is not something to count on. We asked the CM-happened to be the same one we had the week before--and he said it changes on any given day.

Anyway, I hope this helps! They are such different activities so it is hard to compare them. The FM tour is fun if the families are all participating and not worrying about how they look or what other people think. Our group was mostly outgoing but had a few pretty reserved people and that made the CMs job a little harder, IMO.

GL whatever you all decide! :)

We did the Family Magic Tour in May 2005 and it was by far the best thing we did on our trip - the kids are still raving about it and whenever they hear their friends talk about up coming trips they tell them about the Family Magic Tour - I've even had a couple parents call and ask me about it - LOL

I think that main reason that I am holding back from the Family Magic Tour is that DD will be 5 when we go, but she is petite. I am sure that she will not want to walk the whole tour this year, and I do not want to carry her either. We plan to go back in 2007 so I will plan for the FMT then, instead this year her and her brother (6) will do both the Wonderland Tea Party and the Pirates Cruise. I know if they are together they will have no problems being away from Mom and Dad.
