Not a lot of Jamaica reviews here on the boards. Wondering the people's favorite excursions with younger children (8 and 6 yo girls) and older folks (grandparents). Would love a nice relaxing beach day but there doesn't seem to be anything other than jewel beach which is an hour away and has had some bad reviews. Thanks !

We didn't like any of the disney excursions and just walked around port then went back on the ship. We too were looking for a beach day or something that didn't include the falls or physical activity. We were disappointed in this stop.

I have a 6 year old. The issue I had with most of the excursions is that they are so far away from port. A 45 minute to an hour ride there and back - not for us. We ended up just getting off in port and walking around. Had a drink in Margaritaville. Then enjoyed a mostly empty ship.

My kids were 4, 6 and 9 when we went. We did the dolphin petting at Dolphin Cove. There was tons to do there and the the ride there and back wasn't bad. There are lots of things to see and the guide was good about pointing things out during the drive time. After Dolphin Cove we did Dunn's. I was planning on my smaller two to watch but they wanted to climb. It was awesome, they had a blast and we had smaller kids in the group who went as well. They were exhausted on the way back so they were zoning out.

Green Grotto caves is fun and if you have never been climbing Dunn River Falls is fun. It's popular for a reason just be aware of the vendors right outside the exit that will hassle you for a sale. The other option is book a private tour and go to Blue Hole. No cruise ship goes there and it looks awesome. Thats what we plan to do next time we cruise there.

We just went to the Blue Hole and it was AWESOME!! Booked through Courtney Taylor tours.

Last time, I had booked day passes at Hilton Rose Hall in Montego Bay outside of Disney, but we ended up cancelling at the last minute and doing Dolphin Cove and Dunn's instead. I booked Hilton since the official DCL resort, Royalton, was sold out before the 75 day window opened. Hilton is closer to Falmouth, it has free shuttles to Rose Hall next door (if some of you are more into history than the beach), and it is very easy to book day passes online. Most importantly, it had consistently good reviews everywhere, including lots of videos on youtube. Only thing to be aware of is transportation which you should research a bit further.

We are bringing kids and grandparents as well and have booked Jewel Beach this time. We found the drive down to Ocho Rios quite interesting, especially once you get to the rain forest, and not bad at all. Most of us dozed off on the way back.

Interesting , so the 1 hour drive to Ocho Rios wasn't too bad ? Was it scenic ? What was the van/bus like, clean?

I was really leaning to Hilton rose hall but from the videos the beach is literally so small you could probably fit no more than 20 people on it, which is shocking because when on an island resort arent the beautiful beaches and crysta blue lwaters the main draw? Anyway still have Hilton rose hall on radar

Thanks !
