Fake FastPasses

Huh who knew? I was plunking around and read an article that said with laser printers this has become a growing problem, and many are showing up on ebay and can go as high as $500 for a stack of them! Who would do this or should I bother to ask! It said CM's are supposed to "run their finger across the top to feel for the perferations" I've never noticed them doing this.

anyone else heard of this??

What will people think of doing next? That is ridiculous too! I cannot say that I have seen CM's running their fingers across the FP's. That is not to say however, that they have not.

it is an easy way to make big bucks off of tourists who want to see all of the parks without the work. By the time the tourist uses the fake fastpass or admission the seller is long gone.

I doubt a CM would rub their fingers on the cardstock and risk a paper cut. The system should be able to nab cheaters though.

boo, seriously people annoy me like no other. Seriously how low can you get? I wish they had some kind of scanner and had to scan your FP...that way they knew. I am not sure this is a big problem so I doubt they are checking for them but just the fact that people do these kinds of things....ugh.

Yes. This, exactly. By the time the person who bought the fake Fastpasses gets to the park (and most likely discovers that said Fastpasses are unuseable), the seller is "magically" "no longer a registered user" on Ebay. I wonder how a fake Fastpass is meant to work? Do the sellers print them up with the dates that the buyers are planning on being at the Park? I know the CMs don't usually closely inspect the Fastpasses, but it seems to me a fake one would be easy to spot, smeared ink, different paper & the wrong date.

My guess is, they scan them into the computer and use photoshop to change the dates and print them off. Or they white out the wrong date and use a clear sticker or something to put on the requested date. OR they just white out the wrong date and leave it blank whidh would trigger the CM to say 'FAKE FAKE" I don't know never having done it or used one.

Also there is a myth about fastpasses. Fastpasses are only good on the day you had them printed out but some people believe and even have posted on the internet that fastpasses never die. Just collect all the ones on the ground then sell them to people for a few dollars. Just enough for the person to shrug off the $10 to $20 but not enough to have Ebay or other auction sites on them.

Anyone using methods mentioned in this thread will be sat on by a fat lady in an old scooter.
