Faith, Trust & Pixie Dust! Jenn & Kevin 10/12/14 Italy/ADH/France - The End (7/2016 New TR Link!)

Just read your whole PJ and TR and am totally hooked! The wedding invitations are so cute, i love the park map inset, that's genius. The bright green and cobal together looks wonderful and you two are so cute! Can't wait to read more!

Your invitations are so amazing I love the colors and your pictures look great on them and how clever to line them with a park map! Can't wait to see more of your updates? Have you started at all with favors?

I have an inkling on what I want to do for favors (I'm leaning towards custom sunglasses) but we haven't actually nailed everything down yet. But that you for reminding me of ANOTHER thing to add to our to-do list!

Yay!! I love getting new readers - welcome and good to have you! And thank you for your sweet words :)

Thank you for your level of details in your posting! We are hoping to plan a Wishes wedding for December of 2015 and we've already been doing a ton of research, but we aren't allowed to start talking to DFTW til August first and it's making my obsessive/question filled brain crazy not having a point of contact there. Your PJ has really helped. :)

Also have to say, I love the part of your RSVP asking for song requests!

Looking forward to more updates.

I want to come to your wedding just so I can have one of those invites! They are absolutely wonderful and I adore the envelope liner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been so wrapped up in everything both real life & wedding life that I completely missed out on mentioning that we are in the DOUBLE DIGITS TILL THE WEDDING!!! Yep, in just 96 days I'll be a Mrs.! Holy bejeesus time is flying by.

Thank you for your kind words! I loved other people's PJs for that exact reason - by the time I was able to actually start speaking with DFTW I knew so much of what I wanted already.

Thank you so much!! Nice to see you over here! I've passed everyone's compliments onto my MOH and she is thrilled to pieces :goodvibes

I absolutely love your invitations! I'm so far behind on your posts I must have missed it while skimming, but where did you get them done?

Leaving next week for our trip (yay! It's finally here!). We'll be having our party at Eau de France.

I'm really enjoying reading along with your planning. Your invitations are great!!

DOUBLE DIGIT DANCE!! WOOO!! (I'm dancing in my seat over here!) :goodvibes:cheer2:

:dance3: I'm dancing right here with you!!

My MOH made all of my invites (and save the dates, and future paper accessories still to come, like programs). She got her degree in graphic design and so before DF was even in the picture she always said her wedding gift to me would be to make my paper goods! We based the invites off of Minted's minibook style though, and I know I've seen similar looking ones on Etsy.

Took me a whole day to get caught up but I LOVE your journal! Definitely subscribing!

It's a bit of a beast now isn't it? Can't believe I started it nearly 10 months ago! Anyway, :welcome: and good to see you!

 Yay for your trip!! Wish I was going to the World next week! Have a great time - and thank you for your kind words :goodvibes

Tomorrow marks 3 MONTHS till W-Day!! Aka 93 days today till the wedding!! Ahhhhh I think I say it every post, but time is seriously skyrocketing by.

My MOH's dress came in last week and I had to go to get it with her, even though it took all of about 5 minutes to do and she lives an hour away. Oh well - I got to see the dress in my color and we got to go to Panera :thumbsup2

Guys - it's STUNNING! Alfred Angelo's Cobalt is a gorgeous & bold color, even in a softer fabric like chiffon.

I'm so happy with it. While we were there the girl working looked up the other dresses in her computer and said they should all be delivered soon - I'm going with my cousin Sam to get hers this Sunday. It's all coming together! Also, the BMs jewelry shipped - since it's coming from the UK I'm not expecting to have it before the end of the month.

Earlier this week I went over to my aunt's with my mother to start my brooch bouquet - my aunt is incredibly crafty so I knew she would be an asset.

Let me tell you all one thing: making your own brooch bouquet is HARD. There's a reason they say don't leave it till the last minute - if I was doing this by myself at 3 months out I 100% would have quit. We each made about 3 flowers and our fingertips were so sore from the twisting of the wire and wrapping of the floral tape.

Our finished work for the night!

We'll see what it looks like in a few weeks - my aunt has been begging for a crafts project so she insisted I leave the rest for her at home to work on. I'm so glad I decided to do this - when I have the bouquet on my wedding day I'll be able to look at it and see the hard work my aunt, my mom, and I put into it and it'll be that much more a special thing :lovestruc

We've also started to get some RSVPs back, and the first true Maybe of our invite list (where we really didn't know if they would come either way) came back as a No :woohoo: (it was someone we had never met, hence the ambivalence). Every No we get puts me one step closer to extras - I'm dreaming of a ride mix-in!

We're going to get the men's suits tomorrow - the to-do list seems to be both growing and shrinking at the same time ;)

3 months - time really is flying by!

Please tell your MOH that she looks stunning, the color is really fresh and memorable.
So excited to see your brooch bouquet coming together - it sure will be one very special and beautiful piece!

Also a ride-mix-in seems great - which ride are you thinking of?

Just finished reading through your planning journal and your wedding looks like it is going to be amazing!! I LOVE illuminations and that is so cool you get to do the dessert party. Your brooch bouquet looks like it is going to be gorgeous :)

I will tell her! I know she's happy with the dress, and so I'm happy too.

In a perfect world, I would love to do a Soarin ride mix-in, and bring along a different dress for me to change into so I could ride too :thumbsup2 Of course, there's plenty of reasons why that wouldn't be a great idea - money, logistics, and the fact that we will have an infant in the group and I don't want either of her parents to miss out on riding because of her! (Though I guess if I didn't change I could always hold her).

I love how the bouquet is coming along! It looks wonderful!

Thank you!! I'm so excited about how it's turning out.

Hi there!! I can't wait for the dessert party - to me it's a must-do for our wedding. Literally going out with a bang!

This past weekend we went suit shopping, and it ended up being a much bigger ordeal then we thought!

We met most of the groomsmen and our families at the store, and they all got measured and we wrote down their sizes. It took about 3 minutes tops, and so we were all just standing around chatting and spending some time catching up. Well, my dad kept having my brother try on suits, as we wasn't thrilled with the way my brother was sized. He mentioned to the guy helping us that my brother has a suit already in a size 35 - and the employee said "oh, well the suit you picked out doesn't come in anything lower than a 38". :headache: My brother and our best man are both very lean and lanky, and neither of them would fit in our chosen suit - but they never told us! If we had walked out right after the measuring was done we wouldn't have known that the suit couldn't be ordered in their sizes. That bothered me more than anything.

So we set out to pick a new suit that would fit our two lanky men - and then the employee mentions that the new option won't fit either of our dads. :faint: We ended up having our dads wear the original selection, while our groomsmen & Kevin are wearing the newer, "slim cut" suit, but it was a headache for sure! We didn't even order them this past weekend (the employee was actually a manager who said there would be a better sale coming at the end of the month, so he'll put the order in then) so I'm just hoping everything comes out ok. It's hard for me to not have control

In other happier news, we have our second bridesmaid dress!

I'm loving it!! I know that the other two dresses have actually come in, but my cousin is on vacation and my other BM hasn't driven out to get hers yet, so no photos just yet.

89 days to go!! We've gotten a smattering of RSVPs back, and right now we have a max possible guest count of 103 (based only on receiving RSVPs back - no more than 95 based off of verbal responses) so we know we won't exceed our venue maximum! My mom started panicking about that when my parents added all their cousins. We've only had one big surprise so far - Kevin's aunt who was a sure-thing isn't coming, as her boyfriend has a family wedding at home on the exact same day. I suppose the cheaper expense won out, but I'm still bummed for him :(

Until next time!

So weird that the different suit sizes have such different ranges - good thing your dad brought up your brother's suit size at home! At least now you have something that works for everything, and hopefully everything will be put in correctly when the manager does it once the sale starts (yay for saving money!:goodvibes).

Also, your bridesmaid looks so happy and comfortable in that dress - it looks like it fits her great!

For some reason, I thought you guys were expecting a lot fewer, but I forgot that your parents decided to add all their cousins. I feel bad for Kevin - it sucks that his Aunt decided to pick going to her boyfriend's family's wedding over her nephew's, but I guess that's life. :worried:

Woohoo for the RSVPs coming back, and for being under 3 months till your wedding!:cool1:

You're telling me! I'm going to ask Kevin to call the store at the end of the month to be sure. Such a pain in the rear, I'll tell you.

We were working on an estimated guest count of 70 people, based on the vibes family had put out when we first started talking about a DFTW and guestimating what we knew about our friends' current financial ways of life. I would say if anything there's a chance it might rise to 80 based on the people my parents added, but it's hard to say because it's really difficult to predict what our friends will or won't do (or rather, can or can't afford). From what I've been hearing from people the flights are a doozy right now :sad2:

Too bad with the suits - suit rental seems to be such an easy concept (which you don't find in Germany by the way), but some things just link to unnecessary stress.
Moreover what a shame for Kevin! Couldn't his aunt come alone? My DF also attended a wedding without me, because I had an exam (and if it's your family you aren't really "alone" in my opinion).

But a huge yay for another beautiful part of the bridal party - the dresses are all so much fun!

It's all coming together, isn't it?

The guys are actually buying the suits, since it costs the same to purchase them as it would to rent a tux, and this way they'll have it forever (and most of them don't even have a gray suit!) - I'm just crossing my fingers and trusting everything goes well.

Eh, I didn't really want to press FMIL for the details - I would imagine it has to do more with the fact that our wedding requires traveling expenses, while this one doesn't. This aunt snowbirds in Florida so they were going to come because they'd already be down there, but maybe they're delaying their travel now? Who knows.
