Fairfield Inn or closer ??

Happy to be planning a Disney trip Nov 3 to 8th with a friend who is a Disney Newbie!!

Think I will book at the Fairfield Inn.

Last year stayed at the Candy Cane Inn. No complaints... the shuttle was the very best part. Only problem was our feet were so sore and we were so tired there was no where to grab a bite to eat!! We tried to get the energy for Bubba Gumps but just couldn't do it. Let's just say every step counted!!!!!! We stayed last night at the Grand Californian. Very nice but for the price I wanted a LOT MORE!!! We were also too tired to go to downtown Disney & eat. Ate twice at the Storybook Cafe. The Whitewater place was closed. Talk about overpriced. The lunch was OK, but supper was really close to gross. My son & friend ordered a chicken dish that was so ugly we still burst into howls of laughter when remembering the "Zombie Chicken"!!! Oh well it's a fun memory. My mashed potatoes were smushed beyond potato glory!

Ok, so I know I'm a walking wimp... How close is the monorail to the Disney Hotel. Is that the least walking?? Or am I better off at the Fairfield?? Any other suggestions, ???

The Monorail from DLH is barely shorter than it is from the GCH to the gates. Plus the monorail doesn't go to DCA. So in the end how much time will it save?

The Fairfield is not too far, but probably 1.5 times further than the GCH.

DCA= Disney's California Adventure

I would start doing a lot of walking before your trip, and maybe get better shoes. The Fairfield is pretty darn close. The DLH would be fun, but I wouldn't make that choice based on distance as it isn't going to save you walking time even with the monorail.

The Fairfield is not too bad, not as long a walk as Candy Cane. On the plus side, it is located right near McDonald's, Millie's, and Mimi's, so that should solve your not being willing to walk further to food problem.
