Fair expectations?

Aloha,

Currently with FP+, what are fair expectations for the number of rides a person can enjoy today using FP+ and lines of 20' or less? For example, with only FP, my family and I last June were able to enjoy all of the major rides at either DL or DCA from rope drop (RD) through lunch. Then rest in the afternoon to return to enjoy the parades and fireworks at night. Basically took us about one hour to enjoy all of the rides per land. Hit Fantasyland at 7 AM followed by Tomorrowland at 8 AM, then Adventureland at 9 AM, etc...

My family's last visit to WDW was 2009...pre-FP+. We were able to combine RD and FP and average one land per hour working clockwise around MK...and likewise be able to enjoy the other parks in one day. Moving forward to today, while doing long range planning taking into account FP+ and the long lines for rides which previously weren't FP, I don't know what to expect.

The common FP+ strategy appears to be to book three rides from around 10, 11 and 12 or so. But with FP+, can a family enjoy as many rides (15+) with one visit as efficiently (lines of 20' or less) as the previous FP days?

Or is the new norm today with FP+ features three FP+ rides and waiting in lines for 30'+ for all other rides?

Just what are fair expectations for the number of rides a person can enjoy with lines no longer than 20" in today's world of FP+?

Crowd levels would be the main determinant, so without knowing your dates, or which park you were going to each day, its not possible to stay. Your touring strategy in each park is also a big factor. Simply starting at one side of the park and working your way to the other side may not maximize your ride efficiency. Availability of additional FP+s is also a factor. Getting one for a super headliner, or even a lesser ride in the late afternoon may not be possible.

Using the crowd calendars, like the one at easywdw.com, going to the recommended parks, and following their advice for touring in the park that day can help avoid longer lines, as can using their touring guides. Easywdw.com calls their touring guides cheat sheets. Touringplans.com call them touring plans (duh).

All that being said, standby wait times of 30 minutes or more are the new norm since the advent of FP+. Our last trip had crowd levels of 3-5, similar to previous trips, but we were able to do significantly fewer attractions than before: even though we tried every trick in the book.

A long winded way of saying that you might want to adjust your expectations down unless you go during a very low crowd level period.
