I'm ashamed to admit that I'm quite a faddy eater. Generally when I'm out I stick to straightforward stuff rather than spend a lot on a meal I'm not sure I'm going to enjoy.

However for various reasons this might be my last chance to visit DLP and I want to make this the best trip ever and I'm thinking of having a meal at the Blue Lagoon. What's the grub like there? I gather it's largely seafood, is that correct?

It's exotic seafood. Think of lots of coconut, pineapple, etc.

Everytime, I want to eat there. And everytime, I don't, because i'm not THAT adventurous. Have found the solution though: in september: Blue Bayou, here I come!!!!

DH had a chicken curry there which he said was delicious. There are a couple of meat dishes on the menu and one vegetarian dish. Have you looked here yet? If you click on menu it shows the dishes. I think it is fairly up to date. :)

Nik I had "Grilled fillet of beef with Jamaican pepper and potatoes with preserved lemons" and it was delicious, most definately the best meal I've had at the Park.
and for dessert "The sugar coated expedition" is to die for.
The Blue Lagoon is right at the top of my favourite restaurants:sunny:

Nik sounds like you are going to have a wonderful time.
Would love to hear all about it :)

I'm usually a burger and fries girl when I go to the parks - not something I'd normally do to be honest but I think of my Disney holidays as pure indulgence . I seldom have the burger/fries combo at home so I do spoil myself. However with the possibility that this might be my last Disney trip I am determined to make it the best ever just in case and since I've heard such good things about the Blue Lagoon I have decided to check it out.

If nothing else takes your fancy on the menu Nik, you could always enquire at the entrance desk or ask your Consierge to find out for you, if you could order from the teenagers menu, there's the "Pearl burger" on there and I was very impressed with the Corsair's chicken that my 2 DS's had - proper chicken breast meat, not that plasticky processed stuff.

It is a beautiful restaurant, well worth a look and the alcohol free cocktails are to die for. :goodvibes

You will love the Blue Bayou. It's one of our favorites.

I have never been to the Blue Lagoon because my DH and boys are not adventurous eaters and I am sure they would moan the whole meal through. I would love to give it a try though!

I was a little worried about the children's meals but my younger DDs had the pirate sausage kebab and chips. They liked the sausages but if they hadn't they were each given such an enormous serving of delicious chips they wouldn't have gone hungry. :goodvibes Maybe not the healthiest of meals but hey....you're on holiday! ;)

I can't recommend the Blue Lagoon enough, we are planning on eating here again soon. pirate:

We ate at Blue Lagoon with our friend and her young daughter, who had a child's meal. Everyone was very please with their meal.

I know I will love it, and this time, I'm going to make reservations before I leave, lol!
But no way i'm going to try the Monte Christo, it sounds very good, but also as a heart-attack-in-a-sandwich, lol!

You really didn't think those pirates died of scurvy, did you?
