F&W Festival - what are you going to target?

After looking at that list, all I can say is... Yes, Please!

Hmmm... now where are my fat pants? :rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl:

On a more serious note, will all of these items be available every day during the festival? Or do they rotate the menu? This is our first trip, and it's during Food and Wine... I'm SO excited!! :yay:

Everything on the menu is available from the time the booths open until they close each day.

Supposed to be anyway...in 2008 (we missed going in 2009 *sniffle*) the Aussies stopped cooking the shrimp on the barbie by 8 (that's when we went there for it) and we were really disappointed as that was a whole hour before closing. The guy was actually kind of rude about it....he said "We're not making shrimp anymore!" rather brusquely when DH ordered it...like we should be able to read his mind (there was no sign up). Other than that we got everything we wanted to try. I see the shrimp isn't there anyway this year (aww...) so all I will get there this year is the lamington as I am not a fish fan and I hate lamb...the little lamb chops were cute though, but as little as it was I couldn't make it through it! ;) But the lamington sounds very good and will get my passport stamped! :) I was hoping for the wattle seed mousse they had a couple years ago, I liked that one!

We have 10 days there so we probably will only try a couple a day to get through them all.

Lots of wonderful offerings . . . . BUT

  • Where is the maple creme brulee in Canada?
  • Where is the Louisiana booth? (Loved the crawfish etoufee from two years ago!!)

I will be very sad if both of these things are gone! :sad1:

I intend to try all of them except the ones that I know I won't like (such as lobster roll, since I don't like lobster and detest mayonnaise). I'll be at the festival for 16 days (not all at once though). I'm not bothering with the passport.

I printed off a copy of the map (don't remember where I saw it offhand) and went through and circled the booths that I wanted to stop at. When I was done I think Ihad about half of them circled. It is just me so I won't have anyone to share with so I will have to probably cut that list down a little more. It may be the length of the lines that determines what gets cut from my "try it" list.

The festival will often change items every few years, with some exceptions. There would probably be a mass riot if they decided not to serve the cheddar cheese soup in Canada. They wouldn't take that away because it's the single most popular item in the festival.

The Louisiana area was only around two years, the second year scaled back. The tourism board probably decided two years' worth of sponsorship was enough. Oklahoma had sponsored a kiosk one year, as well. The kiosks change a lot from year to year.

There are a considerable amount of repeats this year, but some of them were items I haven't tried.

No Louisiana booth. I was looking for it also for that fantastic bread pudding they had. This year there's a bread pudding being offered at the Hops and Barley booth.

DH and I are planning to try something at every booth no matter what. We plan on eating like pigs and drinking like fish...:lmao: Actually, we only have 5 ADRs for an 11 day trip because we want to take full advantage of F&W. We did add the Sweet Sunday package so I'm anxious to see what that is. Hopefully it's worth the money.

No plans. The only thing we have to decide is, when we walk through the International Gateway, are we going to turn left or right. The rest will fall into place.

Too many things to consider. Wonder if they'll have the little key fob style prepaid cards again this year?

I wonder when we will find out if snack credits are allowed. I think last year you didn't find out till the start of the festival.

When I booked our package a couple weeks ago with Quick Service Dining Plan, I was specifically told that we could use our snack credits at Food and Wine.

By the way, I'll have one of each, please. LOL
