Anyone catch last nights show? In this particular show they remodeled a Los Angeles Free medical Clinic. Aparently someone who had their house done by them in the past sent in a video wanting to help this clinic out. Well, they turned this into a whole show. So they got families from past shows to help out others who were in need. One family has a daughter who is allergic to the sun (a rare disease). Well, they wanted to help out others like her (all kids). None of these kids, that they helped out, had ever been to Disney World...and it was due to their disease. So, Ty was asked by, Paul I think, if he could swing it to have Disney World openned up at night just for this group of kids...and he did it. Bob Iger openned up Disney World for one night just for this group of kids who have this rare disease. To see these kids faces when they got to meet the Princesses and Mickey and Minnie and all the other characters for the first time was simply priceless (it brought a teat to my eye watching these kids have fun). I think this is something Disney ought to do on a regular basis.

ETA: Forgot to mention...this wasn't just a few ride that they got to go on. This was the whole kit and caboodle (sp?) These kids got everything they would have gotten if they had gone during the day. All rides were open, shops, and even the firworks at the end of the day. How cool was that.

That is soo awesome! I hate I missed the show and I never miss it!

It was a great show. And that was just one part. In another, they visited a lady who had her house rebuilt that was in Katrina's path. She and, oh man, I forgot his name, well anyone-one of the cast members, organized a drive to give away clothes and got Mrs Bush to show up. She was touring the area when they were filming and he placed a call to someone he knew, who knew someone, who knew some...well, you get the picture.

I caught this last night too; the Disney World segment definitely had me crying.

I felt really bad for the woman who had her whole house rebuilt last year and then had to evacuate due to Hurricane Katrina. I was glad to see her house was still standing and that the only things that had been destroyed were outside and could be rebuilt in time.

During the Disney segment, one of the mothers of the children commented that this is great my daughter finally get to meet the princesses. Then went on to say that the princesses don't come out at night. Did anyone catch that? What does that mean?

I must have missed that. Sorry, can't help you there.

I think she just meant that she didn't think her daughter would ever get to meet any of the princesses because she was allergic to the sun and probably would never have gotten to go to Disney World if it hadn't been open at night. Basically, just that the trip was a fantasy come true.
