EMHE surprised the family who lives about 15 miles from my house. The whole county and surrounding area is very excited about the project. Many volunteers have come forward to help provide this family a new home.

The widow's husband died the day their daughter was born, from a heart attack just before they were to leave for the hospital. They had planned to renovate, but the mounting medical debt due to lack of insurance (denied for a pre-existing heart condition) and the poor economy prevented developers who were to remodel from making necessary repairs last year.

I remember when another Diser had them at a neighbor's house. It was great hearing the updates.

I just learned that DD, a Professional Massage Therapy student, will be on-site Monday afternoon giving massages to the hard working volunteers. I was thinking of going to spectate tomorrow.

Today they demolished the old home. I think framing of the new house is set to begin as well. I can't wait to see how they will re-use some of the nearly 300 year old pieces in a new way, since the family had planned to renovate before the unexpected happened.
