Tonight's family on Extreme Makeover Home Edition will be going on a DVC cruise... maybe they'll show some the cruise!

Fat chance on that!! I watched it too, hoping that they would show something, but no such luck. I was wondering if and when they would send someone on a cruise. Why not?? Disney is Disney, right?

Anyway, I was right with you hoping for the same thing and got let down. Maybe next time.

I have seen a couple of episodes where the families were sent on Disney cruises. They ususally only show the family receiving a call or two from Ty.

You know I'm watching it now and I'm a little confused. I thought they said they were sending them on a 7 night cruise but then they showed them standing beside the Wonder. Did I miss out on something?

Ty told them they were going on a cruise and would visit Paradise Island.....that means they would be on a 4 day on Wonder, visiting Nassau. I wonder what they did with the family the last 3 days...maybe WDW?

I think they did the land/sea vacation, because if they flew the daughter and mother home from CC on Saturday, their vacation would've been over on Sunday, no? I, too saw the little clip of them at WDW.

THey showed them in the atrium boarding the ship and then taking a call up on deck 9 or 10 in front of the funnel along with dancing at the sailaway party. Wished they had shown more.

Anyone on these boards onboard when the show was filming???

They were all wearing Disney World t-shirts when they came home... I'm still going to watch tonight's "How did they do it?" show since we missed most of last night's show.

Does anyone else wish that they'd really show how they do it? How do they get permits for building, pool, etc., how far in advance do they start planning? Maybe a documentary...

My best friend and her husband went over to the home while they were building it - in the pouring rain. She said there were sooooo many people there. They didn't see Ty, though.

I love this show! Makes me cry every Sunday night (even the reruns).

This is the only show on TV that I go out of my way to watch!! It makes me cry too!! Some of these peoples stories are so amazing!!

Does anyone else wish that they'd really show how they do it? How do they get permits for building, pool, etc., how far in advance do they start planning? Maybe a documentary...

I'd like to know how they "REALLY" do that too. For me the biggest "How did they Do That" is the foundation. It usually takes foundations several days to harden up so that you can start to build on them!! If most of the house is "pre fabed" off site and brought in I can understand how they can get it pieced together so fast. But once again there are areas that traditionally take days to do - drywall and painting for example - needs time to dry!! Etc, etc, etc.

Scrapcreator- I cry, too. Everytime. But last night was really unbelievable. How many times do we, as families, think it's too much on our plates and these parents took in 5 additional kids without hesitation. Just pure goodness from their hearts. I don't think I would be able to do that. Makes me wanna do better as a person.

I, too wish they would tell you how they REALLY do things. Like afterwards, what are the taxes on those monster houses that they build. And you're right, how do they get the permits that they do and fast!! When they say that a company has paid the mortgage, what about their old mortgage, or is that the one they're talking about? Great questions that I'm sure a lot of us have and would love to have answered. Let's write in to the show and ask, who knows.

Why did the mother and daughter have to be flown home from CC? (I guess I missed that part)

They flew the daughter back (along with her mother) so the daughter could play in her final basketball game. She was senior this year and didn't want to miss the game.

I love that show! Did anyone see the one last week. When the girl with cancer wanted to have the hospital re-done with the Disney Designers?

I read in Canadian TV Guide that there is this this loophole down in the States that they use.

How it goes is if you rent your home to a production company for less than 14 days you are exempt from paying taxes on any improvements the production company makes. You guys who live in the US are so lucky I doubt we have something like that up here.

Also I read in the same article that every new appliance is energy effficent, so that often families found their bills going down a bit.

I just get excited when they tell the family "You are going to DISNEYWORLD!!"
I am so excited for them !! And, they get to interact with the characters and get all those free t-shirts and sweatshirts. I wonder where they stay? I wish those families would join the Dis boards, so we can hear about their experiences. That is our favorite show, and it's so great that my whole family can watch it, and learn so much about the sacrifices that others make for family !!!
