We are staying at pop a few days before our week long Cocoa Beach vacation. Our friend who is going on the beach part of the vacation is dealing with airline ticket problems. Cost and times. Could we add her to our reservation for one night, how much would it be, and would she than be able to take ME to pop, than back to the airport? We rent a car for our beach part of the vacation.

Are you booked as a package or room? If just room only and you're not over occupancy, then yes it'd be no problem to add her and take the ME - just need to give them date of her arrival. If more than 2 adults in room; you'd be charged the extra adult fee ($25???) per night that she's there.

If you're booked in a package; you could try switching to room only and just buy your tix separate...not sure there are any discounts or reasons to book a package right now anyways.

I was once told by a DME cast member that they have family/friends meeting up at WDW from all over the earth, and as long as everyone is named on your reservation, it's never a problem to get them onto DME.

Looks like there would be a ADDITIONAL adult charge for the room ($25/35). Next year each person get will be charged .

For example, if you have a regular room that sleeps 4, and currently only have 2 people on the reservation, you can call and add the additional people to your room at no charge. Each person gets one TO and FROM Magical Express ride from MCO to WDW. It does not have to be at the same date or time. We do this all the time.

Unless the additional guest is over 18 and then a $15 per night charge is applied per night.

OP would have to add the guest prior to booking DME and the DME trip has to be any time during the resort stay (not before or after).

What?? Yes- You do have to add the extra people to the room prior to booking MDE. I never said iou didn’t. But you still get the max # of people per room for free. For example, in May this year we were added to our friends room two weeks before checkin. We lined up our magical express to arrive the day after them, and leave a day earlier. No charge and no issues. If the room accommodates 5, then you can have 5 people on the reservation without charge.

Were they in a DVC room? That’s the only type I know of that does not have an extra adult fee for more than 2 adults. Most regular rooms absolutely have extra adult fees. (Family suites might not have them either?)

Yes to ME to pop.
No to ME to airport since she is going on the beach part of the vacation with you that occurs after your pop stay.... unless she isn't going with you for the beach part. The ME to/from has to occur within the time period of the pop reservation.

You will have to pay the additional adult guest charge since you're not staying at DVC. Values are $15, moderates are $25, deluxe are $35 extra per guest per night.

All resorts except for DVC (one bedroom and above) or family suites charge a fee for each extra adult over 2. Believe me I know as I have been paying this charge since my "kids" turned 18.

Value is $15, moderate is $25 and Deluxe is $35 per person over 18 per night.

Just go into MDE and book a room to verify, first look for one night for 2 adults and then add a 3rd, you will see the nightly rate increase for yourself.

Perhaps your friends covered the fee for you ? (I do this for my sil !)

Correct, DVC is exempt except for the studios (recent change!) as are the family suites.

A DVC villa of any size including a studio booked on points would be exempt, of course. No cash charges for up to the capacity of the room (varies, is 4-5 for studios), no matter how many are adults. Having more guests than the stated capacity of the villa (plus "one child under 3 in a crib") is not allowed.

This is (unfortunately) no longer the case with the DVC studio. When paying with cash there is a $35.00 per night charge for every guest over 18 in a DVC studio since they are considered deluxe when booking with cash.

This changed about 2 years ago, and again I know because I have two "kids" over 18 but still in college and traveling with me, The studio used to be our go to because of the sleeping options and the mini kitchen but now we generally end up with a suite at AOA or offsite.

I just double checked using a random date in September and the price for a studio at Rivera, and BWV increases by $35 when I change from 2 adults to 3.

Points are a different thing - no cash involved.

That’s what I thought I said -

They did not pay a fee. DVC studios sleep 4 or 5 people. It’s not 2 adults and you get 2 kids for free. It’s 4 or 5 people. You can have 4 adults in a studio reservation with no charge.

Yes, we are all DVC. Sometimes we share studios.
So, if 4 adults want to share a room with two double or queen beds in a non-DVC room they have to pay extra? That’s nuts.

Room pricing for cash reservations (ie. not DVC points) are based on dual occupancy (ie. two adults). Extra adults result in extra nightly charges, except in family suites and DVC villas larger than studios.

Ok let me back up - the OP is staying at POP and the post I quoted said there would be no charge for up to 4 guests at POP. Pop (and all values) charges $15 per person per night for every adult over 18. Moderates charge $25 and deluxe charge $35. AOA and ASM suites do not charge for extra adults.

Yes to the above, resort rooms are based on double occupancy with children under 18 free, but each adult over 18 is charged. This has always been the case at Disney as well as at Universal and many other chains as well.

DVC Studios when reserved with cash also charge the additional $35 per night per person for additional adults, larger units do not. I noticed the increase sometime after my oldest turned 18. Obviously this doesn't apply to DVC points reservations.

Feel free to check - just use MDE to price a DVC Studio for one night for 2 adults and then for 3 adults and see the increase for yourselves.
