We have a ADR for Crystal Palace for our son's birthday (May 3rd ressie) made already for 8 people (4 adults, 4 kids) yesterday I find out 1 more adult will be joining us at Disney.

What do I do now??? There aren't any spots per the online and I tried calling and they had no tables....

DS will be devestated if he doesn't have dinner with Tigger :sad1:

I would keep trying but I think the last minute adult should be prepared to skip the meal if you can't be accommodated. Going from 8 to 9 at a popular place like CP may be very difficult and your son shouldn't have to miss out on it.

I agree with Pakey. Keep trying for a new ADR. But it is very unlikely that you will be able to get an ADR for 9 at this point.
I would politely inform the extra person that the reservations were made will in advance and you are unable to change it. I would prepare them to meet you after the meal.
Your son should have his planned on dinner.

Will they accomodate us at the podium when we sign in? And just add a chair?

Sometimes. We were turned away at WCC one night for dinner when we brought an extra person (that late person had to eat CS that night). There is no way of knowing; it will depend on the crowd. The restaurant cannot exceed the room capacity. This is a very popular restuarant that is normally fully booked; I would go hoping to be able to add but I wouldn't count on it. They normally don't just add a chair to an existing table size. If they can move you to a larger table, they will accommodate. We had 7 people at an 8 top at CP our last visit there and it was pretty crowded; I can't imagine trying to squeeze 9 at that table.

Another suggestion might be to keep trying to get a table for 2 close to the same time as your reservation. When we go with big groups they often book us at separate tables and then the seating people will try to put you in the same section if possible. Depending on the time of your reservation you may even be able to get a walk up table for 2. And be optimistic because often we are accommodated if we ask nicely and are patient!! We have even gotten walk up tables at Cinderella!! Believe in the magic! :yay:

Thanks for this suggestion! I accidentally made our ADR (ironically for CP also) for 4 instead of 5 and have been vainly trying to change it for quite awhile. I was just hoping that they'd allow us to add the extra one when we got there, but after reading this thread it didn't seem very likely. I tried your suggestion and was able to get an ADR for 2 within 15 minutes of my original one, so hopefully this will work and they'll put us close together!

I was able to get a reservation for 3:20 for all 9 of us... I'm keeping my orginial one too of 6:10 in hopes that I can get something closer to dinner time but right now I have one at 3:20 for all of us.

They told me dinner starts at 3:15 so food should be fresh!
