extra MagicBand

Just had one member of our group cancel a week before we head to WDW. We have his MagicBand. He had purchased a ticket and the dining plan. He is not interested in using this at a later date or any kind of refund. So, I am wondering if we can still use his band in some way to have an extra room key, use his Dining Plan, use his FP reservations? I understand there is a finger scan required to get into the parks, but can one person have more than one active MagicBand? Just trying to figure out how we can still get some of the value out of what the tix/Dining/villa cost. Thanks!

You can use the MB for it's FP+ reservations.

If you don't scan the MB at the park gates, it will still work for FP+,
but his TICKET will not be touched, so it can saved and used or upgraded by ANYONE on a future trip.

Anyone in your party can use the FP+ reservations just by scanning his MB at the FP+ entrances.

Also, you can cancel his WDW resort room reservation and/or Dining Plan.
(Don't cancel his ticket.)
There will be a cancellation fee, but it will be less than not canceling and not using them.

(And, again, the MagicBand will still work for FP+ because his TICKET will still be valid, even though it will not be scanned and, therefore, remain fresh and ready-to-use by anyone in the future.)

Unfortunately, it's a pretty messy situation. My sister's fiancée betrayed her in the worst possicbe way, so we all agree he won't be joining us , and we'd like to have as little contact with him as possible. We booked rooms and DP through David's Vacation Rentals. They have been wonderful in offering to try and cancel his DP and take his name off the room reservation. However, the DP was paid for with his credit card. In the interest of not having contact with him, we opted to not go through canceling things and explaining it all. There was always a possibility he would not be able to join us due to work, and he had agreed to pay his share either way. So, since we are not canceling his DP, can we use those meals? We have a 7-day DP, but are using 2 TS meals for Hoop De Doo. But if we have DB's (let's just say that means "Disney Boyfriend", not what I REALLY mean!), MagicBand, can we all use his 7 TS credits for a meal together? Also, I know this isn't the resort thread, but this situation changes the "who stays in what room" dynamic. Can someone else in our group use his MB as a key to the room he was supposed to be in? Sorry....it's complicated and sad...but I'm glad my family is going to Disney together to help my sis get over this. Thanks for any help/advice you can give.

AFAIK, anyone else in your party can use the extra meal credits,
but I know nothing about Dining Plans. Never use 'em.

Our son in law was unable to go with the family last October. They would have had to pay a cancellation fee so they kept him on the reservation. His ticket is still good for future use. We were able to use his ticket for fastpasses in October. And the interesting thing is that we are still able to use his ticket for fastpasses for our upcoming January trip. His ticket has become a fast pass generator which we will be able to use for fp's until he gets a chance to come to WDW to use it himself.
