Extra Magic Hours Late?

How does the late EMH work? At MGM the hours are listed as from 9-8:30 with an EMH. Does that mean it stays open until 9:30? A bit confused, can anyone help please?

Evening EMH gives resort guests 3 extra hours past the listed closing time. Morning EMH is 1 extra hour before the listed opening time.

Each park stays open for resort guests only for 3 hours beyond the offical park hours. You must have your room key for each person in your party and you are required to get a bracelet for each person in order to enter the attractions. There are multiple places to get the bracelet in the park that is open late. If you wish to enter the park after the official closing time you are able to do so but must still get a bracelet to enter the attractions. You must have already been in the park that day or have a ticket with the park hopping option.
