Quick question...I know that to enter the parks early for EMH you need to be staying at a Disney Resort. What about for the EMH at night? It seems like it would be impossible to track who is a Resort Guest and who isn't for this. Any help would be appreciated. I have a friend who is staying off-site for our trip in a few days and was wondering so we could plan accordingly. Thanks!

for the evening EMH, you need to get a wrist band earlier in the day. Only resort guests can get them. Other people may be able to hang around in the parks, but without the wrist band they can't go on any rides.

Is the night thing taking the place of e ride nights?? I havent been in a few years and they were only doing eride nights that you had to pay for.. How long after the parks close does the EMH last??

Just wondering...........do you still have to pay a fee to get the writst band? I was there one year a few years back & everyone who wanted to stay during the EMH & if they were resort guests only had to pay a $10 fee. :confused3

That was E nights when you had to pay the $10. This is EMH and it is for all guests that are staying at one of the WDW resorts with no extra charge. You just have to get your wristbands starting 2 hours before closing.

Extra Magic Hours (EMH) are free and are only available to guests staying at WDW resorts.

The morning EMH means that particular park opens to WDW resort guests one hour earlier than for the general public, and they check out whether or not you're a WDW resort guest at the front turnstiles.

The evening EMH last for 3 hours after the usual closing time of that particular park. This is accomplished through the use of wristbands (the same kind that hospitals use, that can't be removed unless you break them). Starting about 2 hours prior to the park's normal closing time, CMs appear at various spots within the park to hand out the wristbands (usually not at the same spots in the same park each time there's EMH). They actually put the wristband on each person, but only after each person shows their WDW room key (each guest has a room key/park ticket, except kids under 3, and they don't need a wristband anyway). After the park's normal closing time, guests without a wristband will not be allowed on any rides or attractions. IN ADDITION, at least by rule, guests without wristbands are not permitted to make purchases in shops or restaurants, although I'm not sure how strictly this is enforced (twice on the same night in MK last month, CMs told me I couldn't make the purchases I was attempting, until each noticed my wristband and then they happily completed the transaction).

Yes it did take the place of E-nights. I know that MK stays open 3 hours longer and I think the rest are at least 2 hours maybe 3 hours longer.

Sounds great!!! But is it extremely crowded?? But the way I look at it, Id rather it be crowded and cooler than hot and crowded.. at least it will be cooled somewhat at night time..

Wanted to say thanks to everybody who have answered so far! One more quick question though: does the Shades of Green Resort get EMH benefits? I've read that it isn't a Disney Resort in The Unoffricial Guide to Walt Disney World 2005 but read on a post in the Resort section on the boards that it is. This is where my friend will be staying if that helps. Again, thanks for all the help!

  HOORAY for EMH Nights!

We experienced NO crowds during the EMH Nights the week of Easter! I can't wait for that again!

Are there long lines to get the bracelets at night? Where do you get the bracelets? We are visiting late August and are planning to eat at LLT at 6:30pm, would we have to go to the front of the park to get bracelets

They give out bracelets throughout the parks so it is definitely not necessary to go back to the main entrance to retrieve one. They give the bracelets out in seconds and we never experienced longer than a two minute wait.

2 hours before closing - so it MK - then if 7pm closing - the bracelets are out at 5pm ?

How does this sound. Staying at WL. Do the pool at 9 AM for an hour.
Go to DQ and do lunch there, play games.
Leave DQ by 3pm and head over to MK (bus to TTC - then monorail) - 2 hours allowed to travel. Do MK from 5pm to 10pm ?

Or from WL do AK in the AM. Stop back at the WL resort for a swim/quick lunch. Then boat it over to MK by 4:30 pm for the bracelets, dinner & rides.

If you only have to be there 2 hours before - if true - we could do something else in the AM/early afternoon and then MK in late afternoon.

What are your thoughts ?
