I just wonder how this will effect us in July. As we stay at the Explorers we wont get in that extra hour but we do have dream passes which let us in early. We always use this option because of the two rides that are open in Fantasyland.

We go round and round on Dumbo 4 or 5 times then over to Peter Pan for a few rides. The kids are happy and we dont have to worry about these rides the rest of the day.

So will the Dream Passport holders still get in early and if so will it be worth it?

Talking of extra magic hours, how exactly do they work? I can guess how the morning ones work, you must have to show your hotel ID pass then you're allowed but how do they enforce it for the evening? Sorry if this in an obvious question!

Park does not shut until 11pm so I guess they do not want to keep it open until 1am

Sorry for this 'dur' question but what is extra magic hour??
We'll be going in june and it says evening for the 5th, so does that mean it will be open an hour after regular closing??
WHt time would they open/close in june anyway?

Extra Magic Hours is for on-site guests they can access the attractions either 2 hours earlier in the morning before other guests can enter or 2 hours after normal park close.

Good question I'm presuming that as long as you are staying on-site in a Disney Hotel then that is the important thing. Worth checking with who you booked with to see what they say

Not actually booked yet. I found out yesterday that I couldn't use my airmiles for the day I wanted in August on Eurostar - all standard seats booked, obviously there are other dates but they mentioned I could pay for a Disney hotel with airmiles, so I was considering this option - didn't want to book this way then find myself waiting at the gates. The woman at airmiles didn't know anything about EMH - she'd never even heard of them

Disneyland Park only AFAIK

Ive just found the list of rides that were open last Easter during EMH. The park was open some days for 1 or 2 hrs before or after normal hours and was called Magical Opening Times so may be different.

Before:
Disney land Railroad
Sleeping Beauty castle
Tea cups
Carrousel
Peter Pan
Small World
Orbitron
Space Mountain
Star Tours


After:
As above except Railroad and also
Snow White
POC
Indiana Jones
Phantom Manor
Thunder Mountain

There were also several eating places open but no popcorn stands!!!

We only did extra hours after park closed so dont know what it was like before hand but it was still very busy for the couple of hours after.

We collected a wrist band and they would only allow people on rides with the bands but there were still a lot of others about in the park who were not allowed on the rides.

This year our dates coincide with morning EMH so it will be interesting to see the difference - hopefully it will be less busy.

As I say it may be totally different but it might give you an idea.

Im going in sep 2007,and will be there for the EMH on 5th sep in the evening,can anyone confirm that it is 2 hours extra or just one hour as im not sure
Does anyone have an idea what time the park will close that week (on weekdays) and will all the restaurants be open for the EMH? we wanted to eat at Walts

According to the official info EMH is for 2 extra hours.



Opening and Closing times havent been announced yet for Sep.

I think it is unlikely that all restaurants will be open but I would think probably Walts will be. However you may also find it busy as people not entitled to EMH (ie not staying in Disney hotel) may still be in park and able to eat there so they may take advantage of the later hours to spend more time in the park but not on the rides.

I was just wondering which rides will be open as it makes sense to try the ones that are usually the busiest when the park is at it's quietest. Do they provide listings of what is open anywhere?

I find this one on dlrpmagic very useful for checking which rides will be closed. But at the moment we only know what is happening up to the end of June - so it's anyone's guess what will be open/closed from next week onwards!!

I keep checking (several times) daily and I'll post as soon as I know
