Extra Hour for staying on property

When there are EMH hours posted for a resort, is it in ADDITION to the hours posted on the WDW website hours. So, for example, it shows Epcot is open from 9:00 am - 7:00 pm on Friday, April 12 with EMH at night for 3 hrs. So, the actual closing time is 10:00 pm, right?

Does it really make a difference? Are the parks much less crowded?

Same with the opening hour?

Yes, it is in addition to the WDW web calendar hours and Yes, we think it makes a difference! We always take advantage of evening EMH because the lines are shorter or non existant. Granted we travel the first week of May, so I don't know how the lines will be when you are there. Have fun!

We'll be there the 2nd week of April. No idea of how the crowds will be. The last time we were there it was Thanksgiving week, so I guess this will be better than that!

Just to help clarify with your Epcot question...

Future World closes at 7pm (most major attractions do stay open though) while the World Showcase closes at 9pm. Therefore it's 3hrs after 9pm, meaning the park won't close until 12a. :thumbsup2

We never noticed a dramatic decrease in crowds for the evening houses and haven't seen an EMH wait over 30mins (with exception to Soarin' and Test Track).

BUT we love EMH evening hours, especially during the hot summer months. It's so much easier walking through the parks at night with the cooler weather! We never seem to wake up in time for EMH morning hours but they will certainly give you a head start!

We don't stay on property for EMH though, we love the transportation, Magical Express, and being surrounded by the magic 24/7. EMH are just an added plus in the book.

Now, see we had the total opposite experience. We'd go to the morning EMH and practically walk onto the rides. Evening EMH, however, was terribly crowded and there were no FastPasses and the lines were looooonng! And this was in mid-September, too, when the crowd levels overall were pretty darn low.

Seems backward -- seems like the Future world should close AFTER the World Showcase! Anyhow, looks like Soarin will be open until around 10:00 or so -- plenty of time to visit after our dinner.

Thanks.

Actually, attractions like Mission Space, Test Track, and Soarin' are open till 9p on general closing and 12a on EMH. Here is what will be open till 12a via allearsnet.com

Epcot:

American Adventure
Gran Fiesta Tour
Honey I Shrunk the Audience
Journey into Imagination with Figment
Living with the Land
Maelstrom
Mission: SPACE
The Seas with Nemo & Friends
Soarin'
Spaceship Earth
Test Track
Kidcot Fun Stops until 11 p.m.

Morning EMH is actually only for an hour prior to opening. The parks are less crowded in the mornings no matter what. For evening EMH, though, the parks seem to be a little more crowded during the day and at the beginning of extra magic. Toward the end, though, the parks do empty out a bit and it's really nice during the summer because of the added benefit of slightly cooler weather. In the end, it is worth it just to have that at least slightly quieter magic, as well as to see the parks at night, as they are all completely transformed in a wonderful way.

We try to go to all the morning and late hours because the lines are shorter. :woohoo: There are less people and it is amazing especially how crowded it gets after the morning hours and the park is open to the public. It's definitely worth it :thumbsup2

So if I am reading this correctly...On April 7 the web site says MK is open from 9a-11p, that means it is open until 2 am for disney guests? This does sound right....hope so though

Yep (as long as it says it's evening EMH that night), for Disney Resort guests the park will be open to 2am :thumbsup2

Definetly take advantage of EMH, especially at the MK. They often bring out characters late into the night in Fantasyland and the lines aren't that long to meet them.
But make sure to get your wristband early, I have been stuck waiting in long lines to get a wristband.

Ok, now I am excited! I HATE getting up early. Have teenagers in tote also so they are super happy!!

I don't think we've ever made a morning EMH :lmao: but we love  evening EMH

and not only do I have a teenager, I have a girl  hair and makeup have to be done before she leaves the room princess:

EMH is really worth it. We have found the evening EMH at Epcot to be great for short waits, but we did find it to be crowed at MK.
