Extra Counter Service

Because of our arrival time on our first day, we each will have an extra counter service credit that I don’t currently have on “the schedule” to use. What are my options? Can I use my CS to just get an order of fries or something?? Or does it always have to be a “value meal” from the menu,, (I’ll take the number 2 with a coke). Can I convert them into snack credits?

why not use it for a quick breakfast? Like on the day you check out maybe?

...they may allow you to convert one counter service to one snack credit. People have reported that if you go to the concierge desk at your resort, you can request them to convert any credit down to the next level...like a table service converted to a counter service, or a counter service converted to a snack. (it's a one-for-one exchange, though: you're trading a higher value straight up for a lower value, so it's not a very good deal for you.) From what people have posted in the past you cannot do this at a restaurant-their cash registers cannot make the change, and will reject the card if you try to pay for a snack with a counter service credit (system just won't take it.)

We used our first day counter service meal as a breafast on our last day out since you do not get meals on your final day. You can use it anyday as a breakfast if you would choose...that will work if you are on the regular dining plan but the deluxe plan already has a breakfast meal.

Yeah... best suggestion is if you're not arriving until later on your "Day One" save it for a breakfast or early lunch on your departure day. That's what we did last year when staying at CSR. This year, we arrived in the AM on our first day and ended up having to pay for our final breakfast, because we had burned all of our credits by that point.

We are going for 11 days and I am going to end up with extra CS credits I am going during free dining and I can't stand most of the CS so I planned on finding a Dis member that is going to be there the same time I am and arranging to buy their family a meal. I know you are not supposed to share them but we are a family of 5 this trip and with 2-3 CS left over that is a lot of food and it will really make someone that is on a tight budget happy.

I have read on here that you can convert the CS to snack credits I think you get 2 snacks for a CS. I know that I could do that but it seems to be such a waste.

ohhhhh I just thought of something.....if they can convert them to snack credits if you are going to be there during the Food and Wine festival those foods are on the snack list so you could get to sample some of those yummy things on your Epcot days.

I am going to be there during F&W so perhaps I won't have extra credits after all!

At our last stay at the WL 07, we were able to trade in a cs for 3 snack credits at the roaring forks. We're leaving for the WL again in 8 days and hope to do it again.

When we were there 2 years ago my son got sick the last day and we had an unexpected CS credit. We were at the park and were ready to leave for the airport. There was a hotdog stand that had a hot dog, bag of chips and soda as a meal deal. We asked the family behind us if they wanted our hotdog. We got a funny look but they said ok. We got our snacks and had the pleasure of giving away food to another family. My son was 5 at the time and thought that was pretty cool.

I've never tried to convert CS to SC but sounds good to me! I have, however, treated other guests to a few meals. :cool1: We always seem to have CS and SC to use on our last few days. We share alot of CS meals and eat breakfast in our room mostly. Last year I figured we would leave with 2 CS on our cards. As we were checking out at Gasparilla Grill (at GF) where we picked up some food for the plane (also a good idea) the family in front of us was going to be 2 CS short. I just happened to have that many left so I offered to buy those meals. :goodvibes

A couple of years ago I approached a few families at AK and offered to buy their meals. I bought a family of 4 their lunch at Flametree and the mother gave my a big hug with tears in her eyes and said "Thank you, so much" It made me feel so good, even now I feel good about it years later.:cloud9:

p.s -don't tell anyone but I did leave an unused TS last year. My DNiece had been sick  all night the night before we left and she had to skip breakfast. It never occured to me to try to convert to something else, but that's because we were worried that she wouldn't be able to fly home that day. Now I know to convert unused TS or CS, if I can. And I've learned the hard way to not wait 'til the last day to use up our SC. Last year it took over 30 min. for the CM to get the cash register to work right at Goofy's at DTD. I started getting anxious that we would miss our plane!

we always have an extra one so we use it for breakfast in the resort. normally we eat breakfast outside the world, so its nice to have one inside.

But they would not let me do it last year at Pop Century. Had 2 CS left and had to use them or lose them.:confused3 So, be prepared for either outcome.
