Extending Park Hoppers to the following year...

I hope someone can help me, maybe from their own experience.

I purchased 5 day park hoppers in January for my son and me, intending to go in April this year. I got them from Airmiles, but I can't find anything on them that identifies them as being purchased through airmiles. In March I was diagnosed with cancer and have been having chemo since then and going for a stem cell transplant in September. We are hoping, if I'm strong enough, to go as a family to DL at the end of next April 2016.

I have heard, and have been meaning to contact Guest Services at Disneyland, that it is possible to use parkhoppers (unused) in the year following their stated expiration date. I have coloured photocopies that I intend to send them when I talk/email them, but I was hoping to benefit from the wealth of experience of everyone on disboards. If this has been discussed on another thread, could you direct me there?

Thanks for any help you can give me. Disney on!!!

We've been able to use unused, expired tickets at DLR. As the pp said, you will receive the full value of said ticket (which can vary according to how it was purchased) and pay the difference between that and the current price. DLR is very good about this. Best of luck with your treatment and pixie dust for your future trip!

Do they expire in 2015 or in 2016? I have a pair of Airmiles tickets that I have yet to use and they are dated to expire the end of 2016, just check the back of the ticket. There is no difference between an Airmiles purchased ticket and a regular Ticket you get at the gate.

Disney will be very accommodating to you because of your treatments. My mom bought an AP and was not able to use it after purchasing because she ended up getting pancreatitis. Once the AP expired, she called Disney, explained the situation, and they renewed her pass for one year!
Good luck to you as you go through chemo

Thank you all for your help, and thank you, figment for the link. Valiamo, they have an expiry date on the back of 01/13/16. But I'm grateful to all of you for this information. It's a relief to know I will be able to use these after all! Thanks Vgraves and luckyrabbit for the good wishes.:tigger:
