Extending DL BSM tour by day - where to stay?

Hi we are flying in a day early and staying at Loewes Hotel in Hollywood but want to extend the trip about another day on backend before heading over to Newport Beach.

The cost to add another room on at the Grand Adventure hotel seems high to me. Do most people just do this or do you guys transfer over to a neighboring hotel? I plan to wake up the following morning and head over to Newport Beach and by looking at a map it appears REALLY close so I can't think an UBER fare would be very high since I can't use the Disney transportation service since I would no longer be on the ABD pkg.

It depends on whether the convenience of not having to pack and move to an off property hotel is worth the savings. Only you can make that decision.

Using Uber to go from Loews to the LA Farmers Mkt cost about $14 to $20 each way.

Newport Beach is approximately 19 miles from DL.

If you figure $15 - $20 for a six mile ride, you are probably looking at a $45 to $60 ride to the beach.

In my opinion, you'd be better off renting a car at DTD and dropping it off at the airport. You'd have transportation to the beach and then your transfer back to the airport.

THat is helpful...More I thought about it...I get Disney giftcards at 17% discount (which might not sound like much but that savings really adds up on a trips!!!) so I factor this discount along with the cost of the 50 ride to the beach the savings gap sure does narrow....Didn't realize Newport Beach was THAT far...I think I had it's distance from DL confused with it's distance from John Wayne Airport...

This is only true for departures. You can not arrive through JWA / OC and have ABD pick you up.

Taking Uber from JWA / OC to Newport Beach might be less expensive...and again, may make staying with ABD a better value.

I assume ABD would take me to John WAyne airport but then I need to get myself to the Marriott from there correct? Maybe the driver would drop me at the Marriott instead of JW airport? Or are they bound to only take me to the airport?

They will only go to the airport.

You would need to provide your own transportation from there.
