After many trips to WDW, we are planning a trip to US. A friend told me that if we stay onsite that our room cards will be used as express tickets. Does everyone in my family get a room card or can DH or I just show ours for our kids? Tia!

From what I understand you don't use the room key. Everyone staying onsite gets a photo ID pass to use. So yes, each person gets their own.

Is this new. When we stayed in 2010 you use your room key. everyone gets there own and thats what you use to get in the express line.
BTW it is worth every penny to stay onsite and get front of line.

last year the hotel express pass was needed for the parks express lines.

everyone in your room will get a hotel key.

take that key to the hotel kiosk for the express pass to be made.

it is that paper express pass that is needed to utilize the express lines in the parks.

each person needs their own express pass that will have their picture on it.

Not to hijack the thread, but does a 2 year old also need the picture pass? He won't have a ticket.

Thanks. I'm sure the hotel would know but I'd like to know in advance too...

The change was made this past year. From what I understand on their last day some people were giving their room keys away to offsite guests, so they could get FOTL. Now you check in, take your room key over to the kiosk, smile for the camera, and get a FOTL pass with your picture on it. Eveyone gets their own (not sure about 2y/o and under though, but wouldn't think so).

FYI: if you don't like your picture you can take another. I know all three of us did when we were there in early Nov. (The pictures were still horrible though:rotfl:).

Just curious as to what time the 'Express Pass making facility' opens at the hotel? Due to a transatlantic flight we won't be checking in until about 2000, will we still be able to sort out Express Passes then? In the morning we'll be doing early entry to WWOHP so will be leaving the hotel at about 0715, will be be able to sort them then?
Thanks guys! :)

Our express pass was just our room key. This was in 2010, so I am not sure if it has changed, but if not you will be all set at check-in. Enjoy!

The express pass kiosk are open 24 hours I believe. Just get your room key and walk over to the kiosks, take your photo, print your pass.

They have changed since I was last there! Sorry, OP, for my mis-information. I see they now have your photo attached to the card.

Hi everybody!!:) Is it an actual card like your Room key or is it just a piece of paper??

It's a plastic card with your picture on it. I believe the kiosks are open all the time. We did a split stay this past Oct/Nov at Westlake Town Center and RPR. We wanted to make sure we made the early park opening for onsite guests, so got to RPR when it was still dark. We checked in and was surprised to find our room ready. We parked the car in the lot, went back in, made our FOTL cards, dropped our bags in the room, checked out the room for a few minutes, and still made it over to IOA for early entry.

Edit: oops Raven's right. It was Tyvec not plastic. Sorry, I forgot.

i was at rph in october.

the hotel key card was plastic but the express pass was the tyvek paper.

i had two separate cards to use for the parks.

Yep, plastic key, tyvek paper express pass. It's the same paper as the new AP's, park tickets, and bought express pass.
