Express Question

Is express really express? What I am wondering is...if everyone at a resort has one and people are buying them as well...how does that really work out to be express. I assume it is still going to be a wait at busy times.

We only have one day at US, and are thinking we should purchase the express in order to get to most of the rides we want...is that possible?

We will be there next week Tues May 15.

We are really excited to check out the park, have't been for over 15 years!

Yes, express is really express. I don't go in peak times, but I find I generally am pretty much walking right on rides with express. Definitely under 5 minutes. In peak times, it is more like 15 minutes.

Don't purchase the express in advance. If you find you want shorter lines, but it at one of the shops inside the parks.

We go a lot both peak and non peak. We stay onsite and non peak you normally walk right on to a minute or two. Peak times, some can be up to 15 minutes but most are under 10 to walk on depend on time of day.

Also they only sell a certain amount of passes. Another thing is, even though it's part of staying onsite, there are many people that don't even go to the parks, going places off site, and using the resort activities.:thumbsup2

Great, that is good to know...I think we are going to go ahead and buy it just to be safe, especially because we only have one day at US.

I wish you wouldn't. There's a great chance you're not going to need it, especially if you're doing only one park--I can't tell from your post. If you're trying to do both, it will probably help, but still may not be necessary. You can buy it in the parks, once you've seen the crowd situation, and they won't run out in mid-May.

If you buy it now you're locking in the price--it can go up or down between now and then. But, you're also locking in your day at Universal--the pass is non-refundable, park-specific, and date-specific. Your call, of course. :goodvibes

Have fun whatever you decide!

Ahh...maybe we will just wait and see how things look. Yes, we are doing both parks with 4 kids in tow :-)
Do we have to go back to the front/guest service area to buy the express pass if we decide we want it?

Thanks for the insight :)

No, it is available all over the parks. Most stores will sell it, just look for the sign.

You really are best not to get it in advance. If one of your kids isn't feeling well or something and you want to change your day, you are out the money you spent.

You are there today so this probably won't help you. It might help someone else. We did US and IOA last Wed. We bought the any three days in three years Costco tickets so we had access to both parks. We used babyswap on Forbidden Journey but everything else we did our own babyswap. We bought the Express Passes and they were so worth it. The longest wait I had was like 10 min. for Hulk. Everything else was pretty much a walk on. While DH and I took turns doing bigger rides, we took DD to play areas so she was entertained too. It worked out great. Obvioulsy, we took her with us on the things she could do. We were able to do everything we wanted to do in both parks with also having an early lunch at Emeril's. We did skip about 5 attractions at IOA and we didn't see any shows there. I didn't see any shows at US (unless DIaster and Twister count as shows) but we hit all the rides there. DH took DD to see the Animal and Barney show while I did several rides. Then I took her to the Curious George and Fivel playgrounds while DH did several rides. It worked out well for us.
