Do you guys think the Express Pass is necessary the week of Easter? Pricing Royal Pacific vs Cabana Bay and the difference is $500 for 3 nights, so basically 2.5 days in the park. Would be coming from 5 nights at Disney. Party includes 3 pre/teen boys. Thanks!

If you are 1 or 2 adults and 3 children paying the extra 500.00 bucks for three nights for RPR is a great price.

If it’s really busy you are going to want to have the Unlimited Express Passes for all 5 of you and it’s included for you all at RPR.

If you tried to buy Unlimited Express Passes for 5 for three days could be close to 1,500 in addition to your room cost per night at Cabana Bay.

Not bashing Cabana Bay at all it’s a nice Resort, but no Unlimited Express Pass is included in your stay there.

Stay at RPR and get your Unlimited Express Passes for all.

There are two types of Express Pass.

1. Regular Express Pass- Allows you one Express ride per ride.

2. Unlimited Express Pass - Allows you Unlimited Express rides per ride. This is the Pass that’s included in stays at RPR, HRH AND PBH.

Also your Unlimited Express is good from the time you check in (even if your room is not ready yet) until park closing on the day you check out.

You could do one night at RPR for 2 days of Express (check in and check out days), and the other nights at Cabana Bay. You should be able to get all the rides in several times on your Express days then focus on other things or reride via single rider lines on your Express-less day(s). Also early in the day the waits are typically quite low. Obviously if it fits in your budget, staying the whole time with Express is great.. But you can have a great trip without it too.

EP is never necessary, but it is oh so nice to have.

2.5 days, you should be able to do most things without it.

Just think of it like having a fast pass for everything you want to do at Disney only you would not have to set up times. See something interesting, ride it. If you like it, ride it again.

I've been trying not to be that guy (again) but I've been torn if I should upgrade a night at RPR to get EP for at least the first two of the 3 days we'll be in the park. We are going in a couple of weeks on Mon-Wed Dec 17th-19th and have APs so we've been a few times since May, and will be going again at least once or twice next year. We're mainly going for Christmas things, kids to do spells, and ride a few rides. We will have from lunch on Monday through Wednesday early afternoon to do whatever in the parks and are staying at Cabana Bay. There's just me and my two young boys going.

Touring plans preficts crowds of level 4-5 and OI is saying it's considered a "slow" time for the days we're there.

Do you think we should spend the extra $80 to spend one night at RPR and one night at CB, or think we'd be fine just keeping my original plan of CB both nights?

The goal of the trip is to keep costs low but I can afford the splurge if need be. Just not the purpose of the trip. We're bringing backpacks for clothes and not checking bags on our flight to give an idea on trying to keep costs down lol.

If you want to save $80 don't upgrade. You are the only person who can decide if upgrading by $80 will increase the value of your visit.

For me it would be worth $80.

Absolutely good to have Easter week! 2nd busiest week of the year! Ds1 went last Easter and rode maybe 4-5 rides all day without EPs.

Oh yeah, about those crowd prediction sites. They are only guessing and if they get it wrong, oh well. I am sure they have done their best but I find them to be wrong much more than they are right.

For $80 for three people, sounds like a nice cost for the value it will add, but it is not my money.

If your plan is ride a few things and do spells, you will have early extra hour no matter which hotel you stay in so that could be enough.
