Express Pass question....

When we went to Disneyworld the last two years, we would get the fastpass to one ride and then to ride a different ride or two. After that it was usually time to go back and ride the fastpass ride.
We've NEVER been to Universal, so we were wondering if this type of timing works there, too. We are going to buy the expresspass book because we're staying in a house off the property. We are NOT the type that look to complain, and we (including our kids) have fun no matter what we're doing, so its no big deal if we don't catch every single ride.
We're be in Universal for three days, so do ya think we'll catch everything? Thanks!

With the express pass plus booklet, you can go on the rides at anytime once per ride without having to worry about a time frame. If you use the reular express passes, it is actually better than Disney fastpasses because you get to choose from 2 different return times so it is easier to plan around.

With the Fast Pass, we were able to get another fast pass before the time expired on the first. Then we would ride the first ride, and be that much closer to the fast pass time frame on the second. Is USO like that also?

Thanks Rescue!! Is it like Disney in that you can only get one at a time?

You can't get another one til your time frame comes around or an hour or two has passed. I can't remember if it was one or two hours.

With the booklet you can use them whenever you want. But only once per attraction with universal express.

It could be either one or two hours. It will tell you when you get your ticket.

I'll share a few items I picked about Express pass from our visit to USO on 4/07/2004. Since this was in the middle of Spring Break it was a very busy week.

1. The Express Pass plus, which gets you onto each ride in the Express entrance once was priced at $25 that day. The problem was that they were already sold out (first thing in the morning) the day we were there from advance purchases.
2. We arrived at the park early and were one of the first people into the park. In the first hour Express passes were actually being handed out for some rides (Shrek and ET were ones) rather than having to swipe your ticket to obtain them. This allowed for getting more than the usual number of Express passes early in the day.
3. Once you have swiped your ticket to get an Express pass another one could not be obtained for 2 hours.
4. USO is more strict with the expiration time than Disney is with regard to the Express pass times. I was told if you showed up within a half hour of the closing time for the EP then you would not have a problem. I was able to use an EP that was 2 hours 'expired' by being nice to the ride attendant.
5. My family was able to ride all the rides at USO at least once and several including the new Mummy ride more than once by arriving early and using the regular Express Pass system. We did have to separate a few times and send someone to get an EP as soon as we were allowed to get the next EP. We left the park about 7 PM.

WOW! I can't tell you how thankful I am for all the help! I think we'll get the book, and that way at least we'll get to do everyride in short order so that we can go back on the ones we liked later on.
Again, I'm sure we will think of other questions, but thanks so much for all the help!

1.) I'd get to the parks very early to buy the books.

2.) Then, use your admission ticket to get additional FREE universal express tickets from the machines in front of the rides to use later in the day.

3.) I would not use the express tickets booklet or timed return tickets when the park first opens because the lines will be short for a while.

4.) Then when it gets busy, use the printed times express passes.

After that you will still have your booklet express tickets to use!

This plan allows for 2 passes in the express lines per ride per day granted you are able get the timed return tickets from the machines.

Hope this helps!:wave2:
