Express pass question

Hello, I have a question about the express pass add on for Universal tickets.

I'm planning to go on a Monday at the end of September and I want to buy my tickets online so I have everything ready. I also want to buy the express pass but to do that, you need to pick a specific day. Like I said, I know which day I'd like to go but IF for some reason I can't go that day, like it rains or something, I would have wasted my money with the express pass since it's only good for that specific day, right?

So my question is, if I wait and just buy the tickets now online but not the express pass, will they have them the day I go there to buy? You can buy them at the park, right? Do they ever sell out? I'm planning on getting there before the park even opens. I'm just nervous about getting there and them being sold out...does that happen? Should I just buy them online and not worry about it?

Thanks for your help in advance! :)

I really don't think express passes will be necessary. I would not purchase them in advance. Go to the parks and if it seems crazy, purchase them there. Purchasing them in advance may be a huge waste of money if they aren't necessary.

September is a very slow time at Universal.

listen to damo, good information you have been given.

never buy the epp in advance, wait until you are in the park to see if there are any crowds.

you can always buy the epp at the merch shops in the park.

weekdays and sept are usually low crowd periods.

I agree with the others that you most likely will not need them in September. If you get to the park and seee that the waits are longer than you would like, then just purchase them then. You can buy them at almost every store near each ride.

Awesome, thank you! I'll just buy my tix to get into the parks for now and wait til I get there for the express pass! I was just nervous that they would sell out, for some reason I was under the impression they only had a limited amount of them for each day!

i have been to UO twice in September.

only the weekends will have longer lines and more people.

people seem to start coming into the parks around 11ish each day during the week.

you can get a lot done way before that time if you come early before the park officially opens.

many times the guests are let in prior to opening if the line is starting to get long.

wait and buy the ep only if crowds change the wait time for rides.

also, if you go the the calendar and see the going price for the epp's, you will have an indication of what type of crowds are predicted for the parks on the dates you will be there.

but, it is only an indicator and the prices have been changed before prior to the date....
