Can anyone tell me if the express tickets are marked for each ride or blank. For example if I bought the book but didn't want to go on hulk but did want to hit spiderman twice is that possible. Thanks.

I have never used them, but I have read here on the boards that it is one coupon per ride - meaning the ride name is on the coupon and you wouldn't be able to use two for Spiderman.

Am sure I saw a few people use the other week for same ride but maybe they had something else also believe it or not last week there where a few days when they had sold out of the books by 11.00 am:eek:

The Express plus passes are scanned at each ride, so they are logged in the scanner's memory.

In the case of the old books, each ticket was attraction specific. They also had them where they were non-specific, but you got fewer...

I was just there on Monday and purchased the Express Plus Pass for $25 (you need a separate one for each park each day). It is a single paper ticket about the size of a credit card with a barcode on it. When you enter the Express line you hand over your Express Plus pass and the attendant either runs it through a barcode scanner or marks with a black marker the name of the ride on the ticket itself. When it is run through the barcode scanner it records that you have ridden the ride and if you tried to go through line again it would alert the attendant that you have used your one turn already. Likewise once the attendant had written the name of the ride on the ticket you could not go through the Express line for that ride again.

Of all the rides at both parks we went to on Monday and Tuesday only one ride actually used the barcode scanner. That was Back to the Future. A couple marked the tickets (Jaws and Spiderman) the rest just waved us through without touching our Express Plus Pass. This probably was due to the fact that the parks weren't overly full. The longest lines we encountered were 45 minutes (nonexpress). Since they didn't mark the ticket we could easily have used the Express Plus pass to go on some of the rides more than once but we didn't have time.

We were going to get the off site Express Pass but we took them off our package because it was one ticket per ride. Should we add them back on? It'd only be 23 per person for our length of stay (May 31 - June 4).

This is why I changed my ressies from an off-site hotel. I figured I HAD to have the express plus passes because I refuse to stand in the hot sun for 45+ minutes a ride. If I bought one pass for 3 people a day, that's $75! Well, we were going to both IOA and US, so that would have been a total of $150. :earseek:

It was cheaper to stay on site, and then get unlimited access to the express-authorized rides. YIPEE!!!

Those of you that are thinking of buying the Express plus passes might want to do some number crunching to see if you can afford to possibly stay on site. I figured it would be worth eating at the HRC instead of a fancier restaurant, and ordering pizza delivery....you know, cutting corners, just to get the magic room key. :p

I think you are talking about the latest package they are offering. The express pass is only for IOA and it is only for one day not the entire length of your stay. In fact, on the Universal site you have to actually tell them which day you want the passes because they are limited. I just thought I would let you know before you added it back and then found out later it wasn't what you wanted.

Ah, I see. Thank you, Rescue. I don't think it would be worth putting it on now. Besides since it's early June I wouldn't imagine the lines would be too terrible.

If you know more about the package, are the tickets park hopper tickets or one per day things? Thanks.

I can't seem to find the link to the offer now, but I think the tickets are the Bonus passes which gives you 5 consecutive days of admission. If they are the bonus passes, you are allowed to park hop. The last time we went, we also were there during this same time frame. We utilized the free express passes and did not have too much of a problem. We will be there May 30- June 5. So, maybe we will see you there.:D
