Express check out?

Does Disney still offer express check out or do I need to physically check out of the resort? If I don't have to physically be there, how does it work?

I have no idea if there is an official name or not.
We never check out, not at Disney or any resort.
We just leave.
Everything is paid via the card we provide at check in
Disney is the only place we go where there are any charges applied to the room. Maybe Universal but rarely. Since we have to get a room key out it's just as easy to get our credit card out there. So that's what we use.

I haven't physically checked out of a WDW resort in about 5 years. Always receive an email receipt.

I always pay off our balance the night before with our discounted GCs, but in the past, we would just leave and they hung your final bill on the door, now they just email you the final bill.

I just leave. I don't charge anything to our room but if I did, I'd settle up the night before check out.

Our entire "check out" process is as follows
pack all bags
thorough sweep of room to make sure nothing left behind
check bags at RAC
go back to room and do a final sweep through
do whatever I've planned until catching the DME

If I happen to pass by a mouse keeper in the vicinity after I've done my final final walk through I let them know we're done with the room so they know it's ready for a check out cleaning. If I don't see one, no biggie

Since we always have a credit card on file, like others have said, we just leave. I usually get an copy of our bill via email early in the morning of our check out day.

Our last trip was our first "split stay", so we probably should have gone by the front desk and had them check us out, but when we got to the Contemporaty, the nice CM checked us out of AKL and checked us into the Contemporary.

We just leave. I always review the email receipt. When we were at BWI recently, I found something that shouldn't have been there (a meal that should have been towards the dining plan was charged to the room...I wondered why we had extra credits!). So I had to actually go to the desk to check out. Usually we just leave, though. We often keep charging to the MagicBand during the rest of the day, and when I get home, I call the Guest Services number at the bottom of the email receipt to ask them to email me an updated receipt reflecting anything charged after the night we received the original receipt. I just like to have it to review. They're always happy to send me one.

Check out? Whats that? We just leave. I've never done any official check out at Disney. I don't think I've ever actually checked out at any hotel in years.

I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one. I can't think of any reason to go by and check out any more.
Unless, as PP mentioned, when you are at Disney and doing a split stay. You do need someone to do something when you move from 1 resort to another but they can do it at the resort you move to, if you don't do it at the resort you are checking out of.
