Explosions at the finish-line of the Boston Marathon

I'm just stunned. And so, so sad. Thoughts are with all in Boston and their friends and families.

If we did our math right he should have been about a mile away from the finish when the bombs went off.

I'm not religious, but I'm praying at my desk right now. Hope he is okay and everyone else, as well. Why would someone/body do such a thing?

My fast friends are fine and accounted for. My slower friends are not. Last checkpoint was 35k. One projected to finish at 4:27 other projected to finish at 4:40. So hoping they were just stopped and evacuated from the course. Both times are too close to explosion time for my comfort.

i dont believe any of the runners were hurt seriously the explosions seemed to effect mostly spectators

From all reports they were far away from the finish line. The explosion was around 4 hours after the start. This is just so surreal.

I read that the 3rd explosion was a 3rd bomb that they found and exploded (in water?) to detonate it. I think 2 bombs were found on top of the 2 that were found...but with reports coming in, things keep changing!

I found a few reports saying it was just an unrelated fire, but I think they are still looking into it.

My friends are ok but her DH had his shoe blown off, his toes are damaged and the guy standing next to him lost both of his legs. They were obviously waiting at the finish line for their runners. So horrible.

I am so sorry about your friend's DH and all the victims, that is horrible. I am at a loss for words...
