Explosion at fertilizer plant north of Waco, Texas

I came home too late to catch the local news so I kept switching between the national news stations. I believed that the vast majority of the coverage would be about the marathon explosions but I did hope for something, anything about West. There was nothing for literally hours.

I do believe that the bombings should be the bigger story however rather than a news reporter saying for the 100th time that the police are searching for the younger man, couldn't they have broke away for a few updates about West? Also, maybe some other news such as the earthquake that killed so many and the floods that so many are dealing with?

Either way, it isn't a competition. I certainly do agree with that.

My husband is a volunteer FireMan at the Bruceville Eddy dept.
We lost one of our own members during the West explosion.
We live about 30 miles away but our member was there completing
the last night of his training for EMS when the explosion happened &
He & others went to help.

There is a huge memorial service tomorrow here for him & the others we lost.
It is to honor all 14 lost ( firemen & honorary firemen too)
As a member of our dept my husband & I will be attending.
Even our President will be there. I can only imagine the emotion
I will feel when I see those 14 caskets & I look out over a unnumbered
amount of uniformed Fire Fighters. In my heart I know that if it had
been my town my husband & many of our closest friends would not
be here today.
May God bless the families & friends of those lost & the town of West in its recovery.

I'm so sorry for the loss of these wonderful people. You all are in my prayers.

I'm so sorry this has touched you personally. Thoughts and prayers to all.:grouphug:

There likely won't be much money there since this was just a small facility. Those lawyers show up fast don't they?

There's a problem with lawyers helping families? While there are some ambulance chasers, there are many who are genuine.

Yesterday's Fire Fighters Memorial Service was the most emotionally exhausting event I've ever witnessed. It was such a honor to the fallen fire fighters & EMS.

Watching the videos made by the families was heart breaking. Hearing speeches from our governor Rick Perry , President Obama & others in their honor was special.

Watching the changing of the guards, hearing the bells for each ,hearing taps & Amazing Grace played it had tears running down our faces for hours.

But the last Roll Call for the fallen. There are no words to express how chills go down your back & tears down your face as they don't answer. As the Fire Fighters like my Husband state, " Brothers, rest in peace, We'll take it from here "

Did I say that there was a problem? I said that they show up quickly which is true. :confused3
