both. the fumes are toxic and there is another thing that is on fire and could explode.

Until now, West was known for two things: Kolaches and lots of Czechs. Wish that was still the case.

I was going to say the same. West has been our stopover for snacks (Kolaches of course) when we drive to visit family in the DFW area.
I can only imagine the devastation. My dad was involved in a Dow chemical plant fire before I was born and he can't even talk about it, it's too difficult for him.

Fertilizer is highly flammable and explosive, so I don't think thoughts of this being "set" should even enter in to it.

With this tragedy, and the one in Boston, I would encourage all to consider giving blood.

West is a wonderful little town. It has a strong Czech influence and makes fabulous kolaches, just as a previous poster said. Each year, they have a polka festival called West Fest with wonderful food and drinks as well as music and dancing. It's a great town. This is terrible news. A girl in my bible study sent out a message to all of us asking for prayers because her friend's mother lived in the nursing home by the plant and is currently unaccounted for. Just terrible all around.

I really don't think so. This appears to be a tragic industrial accident, not anything more sinister.
