Hi Guys

I'm investigating my options for next year's trip and having priced Disney- Cheyenne have come to the conclusion that we'll probably stay off site. I had been swaying towards the Holiday Inn but have found a website which has the Explorers at 50€ less per night ;) .

Any recommendations :confused3

...ps How do you get to Explorers from Airport , does the VEA stop there?

Angela, can't help with a comparison as we have only stayed in the Holiday Inn out of the two.
Both hotels are on the same shuttle route from the park.
Some VEA shuttles go from CDG to the Val d'Europe hotels, but it is only certain times.
The alternative is to take any VEA shuttle and then transfer at the bus station and take the pink park to hotel shuttle.

We stayed at the Explorers Hotel in July and loved every minute of it - haven't experieced the Holiday Inn so I can't comment on it.

This is how we found things in July:
The four hotels in that area share the same shuttle bus, we found the timings abit hit and miss. Hotel noticeboard said every 10 minutes, we found we could be waiting 20 minutes or more and then sometimes the bus was full. Getting back from the park after 'Wishes' was a nightmare but we did jump on the Santa Fe bus and then walked back to the hotel - very pleasant actually.

The VEA bus picked up at the airport and then dropped us off at the bus station next to Disney where we hopped on our shuttle bus to the hotel, all very easy. The VEA bus picked us up at the hotel for our journey back to CDG.

It is only the shuttle bus that would actually stop us from staying there again - no complaints with the hotel, rooms or service. The breakfasts were wonderful and the pizzas at Marco's Pizza Parlour - GORGEOUS!

thanks Reid for the quick response.

Did your children like the theming of the Hoilday Inn ?
Did you use the pool?

Thanks :goodvibes

Hi DianeTigger

Nice to 'meet' you :goodvibes . I have to say that I liked being able to walk when we stayed at the Seq. Lodge and am not relishing the idea of having to go on the bus but it will save us about £500 which is a lot of spending money ;)
We are planning to go out of season so hopefully the buses will not be too full.
Thanks for your feedback on the hotel.

If you have younger children, the Explorers is better as it has a great enclosed kids play area and a big pirate ship for them to play on. pirate:

The Holiday Inn has better themed rooms but the kids beds are bunk beds and the top one is very high. The Explorers has a double and two single beds and the rooms are un-themed but perfectly good.

The pools in both are comparable. although the Explorers continues the pirate ship theme and has a flume and slides for the kids, but the water, we found, was freezing!!

Breakfasts at the two are much and such the same. The Explorers has good pizza.

We are booked to return in two weeks and have picked the Explorers over the Holiday Inn, mainly because of the kids amusements. At least we can have some quiet time while they are safely playing!

As for transport, both are on the shuttle bus route and transportation to and from the parks is regular.

Hope that helps.

The older two liked their separate curtained of area. The circus theme was well liked. We had actually booked the Explorer initially and then got an email from Holiday Inn with a cheaper deal :goodvibes

Although we liked the look of the pool we never had enough time to try it out

the pool area is fairly small but it is fine. They had a childrens pool and a jacuzzi area.

Have stayed in both & would choose Explorers every time. yest the theming of the Hol Inn rooms is a bit nicer but we believe tend to spend every waking minute out of our rooms and our children sleep better at Disneyland than anywhere else. We found the Hol Inn pool a bit disappointing, the Explorers pool was great. We were there in August & it was really hot. There were three adluts & four children & we gave them the option of going to Buffalo Bills or back to the Hotel for a swim & they all chose a swim without hesitation (financial result!). Also the two plahy areas are great and are right next to the bar/pizza area so you can sit & have a drink and keep an eye on them, what more can you want? The last few shuttles of the day are always a nightmare but one thing we did notice in the summer was that the Explorers was the first pick up point on the way into the park and also thefirst drop off on the way back from the park which was great. The Movenpick which is the most expensive of this 'row' of hotels was last pick up and people were frequently left to wait for the next one which would probably be full as well! As it's cheaper I'd say no contest!

I think i've decided on Explorers (for this visit anyway ;) )

Has anyone booked through Benotel before ?

Haven't heard of them, but if they're any good I'll add them to my list!

They seem much cheaper than any other site I've checked and only take a credit card number to hold reservation.
