Explain the $300 yearly credit on Venture X to me please.

I am new to the Venture X Capital One Visa and would like to know how to book a hotel using my $300 annual travel credit. I do it through their travel website correct? Do I need to book something more than $300? Is there a box I need to check? (I don't see one just for this and I don't want to use my accrued points.) Is it per calendar year or year since I received the card? Thanks for the help!

Yes, you must use the Capital One travel site. Purchase the hotel using your Venture X card. Do not use points. In a few days they will issue a credit on your account for the booking up to $300. If the booking is less than $300, the remaining credit will apply to a future booking.

Just be aware that 'in a few days' could be weeks. Multiple reports recently of it taking anywhere from 3 - 5 weeks to see the credit. So no need to panic if you don't see the credit for a while.
