Best financial decision we ever made. (six words)

Purchased in 2000, broke-even in three years. (eight words)

Wow, I could not have put it any better myself. I guess we have already broken even too.

We absolutely love our DVC and it was a great financial decision for us.
Our biggest decision now? Where do we want to add points onto....lol

Folks please do your math on this topic. All everyone sees is the inital cost of the points. Once you've been to Disney a vew times, this totally makes sense. We did not pay our entire contract up front so its no different than going to Disney yearly and paying for my room. Its all still going to come out of the same pot

We generally pay $130 or so a night for a Standard View room at AKL and get a free upgrade to Savanna view room (with the tips & tricks learned on the DIS) so why buy a time share? Do your homework and you can stay for about the same price, in a Deluxe resort for what DVC members stay for.

When was the last time you were upgraded to a one bedroom, two bedroom or Grand Villa all with full kitchens and jacuzzi tub? You are comparing apples and oranges. It is not just being at the deluxe resorts we are getting. We have a lot more options available using points. Look at the price of renting one of those accomodations and there is your comparison.

I also forgot to mention having a washer and dryer in your room for those with little ones, so you can pack lighter and it beats going down the hall to the community washer and dryer and having to beat the crowd for them.
