I talked with a cast member and she attempted to explain this to me. She tried, but did not do a very good job. We are going Feb 9-14, 5 nights, 6 days (flying out very early, so going to use a ticket for the first day there) we are staying at pop century. We are not big eaters, wondering how it works, is it worth it, do you know if they offer free in feb ever...any info is appreciated. :)

never mind...found the info..although if anyone has any thoughts they are welcome.

If you found the info you were looking for, your next step would be to go onto allears.net and check out the menus and prices (remember to add tax - tax is included in the dining plans but not on the menu prices) and work out more or less what you would be likely to order on an average day, remembering to include extra beverages and snacks if you need more than the plan's credits cover you for. Add up the totals and see how that compares with the cost of the Dining plan for your party for the day.

To get an accurate idea, don't be tempted to try and 'order' whatever you think you would if you did have the plan, but rather consider what you would LIKE to eat and drink if you were NOT on the plan so you get an objective result. If you dont have dessert twice a day, don't add that in.

General public free dining has never been offered in February. I don't think it's a big time for PIN offers either.

No, not many pins early in the year it seems. It is rather a time when you see plenty of posts on here along the lines of "Anyone recieved a pin yet this year?" to which responses are usually negative. ;)

This is great advice. If you are not big eaters, the dining plan may not be for you. And if having planned meals on vacation does not appeal to you, the Basic Dining Plan certainly would not be ideal.
