EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

I haven't stayed CL at CR. What is the difference between Atrium Lounge and the one on the 14th floor (Tower Club?)

Who can go into which lounge? Is the 14th floor for suites only? :confused3

I could be mistaken, but I believe there is only one lounge, and the CL rooms in the atrium have to cross the bridge to go to the lounge in the main building. I haven't stayed there, but from a few conversations with CMs and browsing the boards, that was my understanding. We decided against CR when the only CL rooms available during our stand were not in the main building.

Of course, we ended up at AKL, where we'll still have to take an elevator ride, so apparently it's the "different building" thing that bothered me :goodvibes

Call me crazy but I totally forgot to photograph a few offerings at YC CL last week. I need them for my photo album. Anyone have pics of chips or tea or any offerings desserts etc? Thank you!

14th floor is mainly suites with just a few regular rooms. It has it's own lounge and is not open to the concourse. Guests on the 14th floor may use either lounge. Atrium Club guests (12th floor) may only use the lounge on the 12th floor. The balconies are also larger (deeper) on the 14th floor.

A previous poster said there was talk that the wine cart was not available at 5pm. Was wine and beer available at 5 pm? What was your experience? Thanks!!:thumbsup2

Well.. Apparently, I am going to spend my time in Disney in a scooter. I have been having pain in my heel and arch and they think I tore a ligament. I am in a boot and looks like I will be until at least August. I can walk without it but after even just a bit of pool time today in flip flops, my arch is aching..

I contacted Buenavista scooters and will be using them.. Anyone have any suggestions?? I haven't used one except in the grocery store here and once at Disney when I was 18 weeks pregnant..17 years ago. I am worried about being a pain for bus riders and other guests
So sorry. Hope you start feeling better soon.

So sorry about your foot.

We push my mom in a wheelchair, so I have a few tips.
Don't fret about being a pain. Anyone who would complain is not very Disney. The CM's are great about assisting you on where to go in the lines for the bus and rides. Remember you can't stop on a dime. Take your time getting used to the scooter. People will cut you off, don't run them over :0. Be aware of the space around you. When people are rude I either wish them a magical day ( which means what you think it should mean) or if I'm being pushed into a wall on line or off the side walk I stop until I can make sure we are safe. I've stepped in front of scooters by accident. Some ppl are good drivers and some are }%##<>. Enjoy your vacation :-)

Good advice! So true about some drivers. We were standing under the canopy at Haunted Mansion when it started raining, and a woman (not even in the line, just wanting to get out of the rain) in a scooter ran over my daughters foot, then proceeded to blame her :sad2: Daughter was standing still!! Lol.
I'd practice with it riding around your resort paths when you get it to feel more comfortable with it, and try parallel parking simulating what you'll have to do on the bus. I'm sure you'll be fine!!

Thank you so much!
Love the fast responses on DIS - even for such crazy questions! ;)

To add, AKL has rest rooms just in hall outside of the Lounge. Very handy as rooms are not on same floor!

I lurk on these boards all the time, but rarely post. Today I need your help!

We (my best friend, me, and our kids) may be booking another trip fairly soon to WDW. When we were there in November, we stayed CL at the Poly and had a fantastic time! We've spoiled ourselves now and don't want to stay anywhere other than CL ever again!

I know the Poly is a mess right now, but we spend a ton of time in the parks and don't really think that would bother us.

Looking online, we only have a few options for CL since we'd be going so soon (August) and I wanted everyone's opinion on what to book. One of the main things we loved about Poly CL was that there was 24 hour access to the lounge and the coffee/soft drinks even if we were late getting in at night. What other CL lounges allow 24 hour access for drinks?

Our options would be:

Poly
Garden Wing Hospitality Suite @ CR
Beach Club
Wilderness Lodge
AKL

Thanks in advance!

Since you're going in August with kids, a heads up that the Volcano pool is going to be closed starting at end of July.

YCFAN, do the rooms on the 14th floor have a hallway door that overlooks the concourse, but just the club lounge on 14 does not? I'm trying to figure out if we want to try for a room on 14 so we can use both lounges...but I'd like my room door to open onto the view of the concourse.

Am I overthinking this? :scratchin

So there are Club Level rooms (non-suite) on the 14th floor?

I asked the CM this and he didn't really know the answer.

There are some non suite rooms on the 14th floor. They are mainly used as add on rooms for the suites. You can't book online, you have to call to book. You can't request MK or LV so it's a luck of the draw.

The are called Tower club rooms.

Advantage of those room is a large balcony. However my dd loves to have the overlook to the atrium/lobby area which is not there on the 14th.

I think the confusion arises from people not knowing the difference between Bay Lake Tower and CR.

BLT has it's own lounge (snacks and drinks for sale, with views of fireworks)with access availability by dvc owners with their ID card.

Cr has suites out in the garden area that include access to the atrium club lounge located on the 12th floor in the main building of cr.

The rooms on the 12 th floor are either 2Q's with a daybed or a king with a daybed. You can book a MKV room or a std which is bay lake side.

If you request an odd number room on the MKV side you can see the castle from your bed.

The 14th floor has the suites and a few rooms. They have a smaller lounge but have fewer people using it too.

I saw your post on the gf thread. We have tried both cr and gf CL 's and agree that to run over to MK for an hour is easy from cr.

We would have. 5pm apps then head over to MK then run back at 8for desserts then back again to MK for a last lap of the park before bed. We usually relax at the resort during the day and the pool area is the quietest by far:lovestruc

Anyone staying or back from a stay in GF SL since the renovation? Curious for your experience! I saw some pictures of the lounge and I am so excited for our first stay there in 12 days!

Thanks for all of the great information :wizard:

We usually stay in the Epcot resorts but I wanted to be close to MK this time. We stayed once before at CR and I paid rack rate! (It was my first time booking Disney.)

The 14th floor rooms do not overlook the concourse. It is the only guest floor in the tower like that.

We were there the beginning of June, and the wine cart was out each night from 6-10 (or whatever the evening schedule is--I know it ends at 10). I asked for a beer outside of those hours and was given one, too. We will be back in 2 weeks, so I'll update if there are any changes.

Book it soon. They were out of 14th floor regular rooms when I called for January.

We've been upgraded from CR Club 12th floor to 14th floor twice. There are many fewer guests on 14 than on 12. In both cases we had booked a single room CL TPV. The first time we were assigned to one of the very few singles on 14. The second time we truly were upgraded to a one bedroom suite. It was December 2013. We had three balconies and even had a 7-foot Christmas tree between the sitting room and kitchen/dining area. It was just DH and me, and we so wished that the rest of the family could be there to enjoy it with us. It was a once-in-a-lifetime upgrade for sure.

The lounge on 14 is basically as large as on 12 but serves fewer guests. What you get in the way of food, etc is the same on 12 and 14 I believe.

As the building narrows towards the top, the 14th floor has large balconies but there's no view into the concourse.

A few more details. When we arrived at the CR and the CM came down to escort us up, I saw her key in 14th floor. I nudged DH who was a bit oblivious to what I'd seen. As we got checked in on the 14th floor, something was said about a one-bedroom, but I still expected a regular room. The CM led us down the hall, and when she opened the door, the first thing that I saw was an entry hall leading to a TV sitting room on the left and a kitchen/dining room on the right plus a large bathroom. Then I saw the gorgeous Christmas tree. It was sort of a blur from there as I realized that the bedroom (the size of the regular CL TPV room) was a separate walk-in from the TV sitting room. OMG And then I noticed that the bedroom and bath had their own hall entrance. So we had two doors. The CM probably gets this reaction all the time, but I was over the moon at our surprise upgrade.

WOW, what a fantastic surprise! Had you made any special requests when checking in? Did you do online check-in or wait until arrival to check in? I'm SO hoping for an upgrade...we have CL TPV booked later this month and I know we'll love it no matter what. But I think I'm hoping for a little extra magical surprise! pixiedust:

Thank you YCFAN, that is exactly what I was wondering about. I don't think I see any downside to staying on either 12 or 14 CL...can't wait! :cool1:
