Checked in to the beach club yesterday. I am very impressed by the level of service here. The CL staff is amazing. If there are any questions while I'm here I will be happy to answer or find out.

Could you ask the lounge staff if the lounge will always be closed at 10:00 PM from now on or if that is just a temporary decision by them. Thanks Oh, also find out if they still offer bottled water. Thanks again!

I am finally starting to get excited about this trip, I am sooooo ready to get a break from here and be surrounded by the magic and beauty of WDW at the holidays. Anyone else going down for Christmas? I'm wondering what sort of special something I could do for Christmas Eve night. I bought a small tree and decorations, also stockings, but I would love to think of something extra magical to surprise the kids.

why are they no longer offering bottled water? It would seem that water is a might cheaper than sodas or beer even...

I will ask about the closing but the beach club no longer has bottled water. They told us to feel free to fill our own bottles up though.

I'm sure they stopped due to cost. Most of the lounges have now added the tall water dispenser which of course is cheaper to maintain than individual bottles. Guests can fill up their own water bottles, mugs, or to-go cups. I should make a new list of which lounges have the dispenser and which are still using pitchers of water or glass bottles of evian. I know the Poly has a dispenser, AKL has a dispenser, and I believe someone recently reported the YC had added a dispenser too.

The Old Faithful Club at WL also has a water dispenser. However, they also have a small sign asking you to talk to a CM about filling water bottles. I'm guessing that they fill them from another source so as not to "contaminate" the spout on the dispenser in the lounge.

Hello everyone!

I have so enjoyed spending my free time reading this thread over the last few weeks. Such a nice little escape from real life! I really appreciate all the information.

It seems like info on the King Deluxe rooms in the main building at GF is hard to find. Hopefully someone can give me some guidance regarding the best way to list my two requests.

In the room will be me, dh, and ds5. I really would love to stay in one of the turret rooms, mostly because I would like the extra room, and because it is totally on my bucket list! But we would also like to be near the lounge. It really is nice to be able for either DH or myself to slip out and grab breakfast, or a glass of wine in the evening and not have it be a big production.

Are there many turret rooms near the lounge? Do I need to really decide which is most important, or should I just ask for both and hope for the best?

There are only six turret rooms. Two on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors. To be closest to the lounge request the 4th floor. I would put that in ASAP since there are only two of them. I would request turret room first than 4th floor second. It is easy to get to the lounge from the 3rd and 5th floors, so it wouldn't be too much of a hassle if you didn't get the 4th floor.

For years I was snobbing the CL. I thought it was super expensive and not worth it. Until we checked-in at the Yacht Club 2 weeks ago (for 1 night) and received pixie dust from Disney (major pixie dust and got upgraded to a Deluxe 2 king bed rooms with CL) ... With the "free food" we cancelled all our restaurants reservations and decided to stay at the resort all day. It was so worth it!! E are hooked.

It's definitely going to change the way we travel to Disney. From now on, when we'll stay in a Deluxe (we do it on non-park days), unless the restaurants are amazing (like at AKL) or special occasions, we are only going to stay CL!

Does that mean that the Club Level Rooms at the other resorts are only sold at Rack Rate?

I'm not sure which specific offer you are considering. WDW sometimes doesn't mention every resort/deal.

No. Any room or type can be discounted or not based upon how the rooms are filling up for the dates that you are going. If the CL rooms are being booked at rack rate, then no discount. If bookings are slow then discounts may be offered. Personally, we only stay CL when we can get an enticing discount. That has happened frequently but not always.

For some reason, the AKL CL often seems to have a discount. Many people seem to love the CL at AKL, though. WE liked it OK, but not as much as other CL's near Epcot and the MK.

I know the feeling! We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite at the GF in 2008 and only stay CL now!! The good news is I've gone to WDW 6 times since then and have always received at least 30% discount in CL rooms!
