EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

WL7thfloor.jpg

All of the CL rooms are considered "Standard rooms" except for the suites. The possible views in the North Wing are Woods View, with CR, monorail and MK off in the distance and the Otter Pond below and WL Courtyard View with Bay Lake and the pool. In the South Wing you have the same views, but the Woods View is a view of VWL with woods beyond.

Those rooms in the South Wing have a Woods View with VWL in the foreground and woods beyond. I recommend requesting a Courtyard View or a North Wing Woods View. Rooms 7035 and 7127 are the only two non-suite rooms that directly front the WL CY. 7127 is our favorite room:love:

thank you so much, I have been tinnkering on the net trying to figure it out, we are not going until 11/21. Its been 2 years since we have been down - (to some thats nothing, to me it seems like forever - was a DVC owner for years) and I want to make this trip perfect, even with pool down, WL with any of the Christmas decorations makes up for it!!! Please add me to your list also WDWKOOK - 11/21-11/26 (I think I posted elsewhere as well!!)

Can anyone help me out?
I'm pretty sure that for standard room reservations, room assignment is now done electronically, but in CL, the CMs still do the room assigning. Can anyone confirm or deny this? And if it is true, about how far out is CL room assigning done? I'd like to verify my room request just ahead of them making the room assignment.

Thanks!

Check in was ok...my requests never carried over. .but I got them anyway...room was ready but never received the text...The crowds at evening offerings were very mild...nothing compared to Polynesian club...that was crazy last year had a line ....my kids aren't really eating the apps definitely not your basics...but I love them!!!

Great your requests were eventually met, and the lounge crowd is mild. Are you seeing animals from your rooms balcony? Also you may of already answered this but are you happy with your room location and mousekeeping ect.

Thanks so much very appreciated and Have Fun!

I have stayed at cr poly and gf CL's 3 times each in about 3 years time. All but one was met.

The only one not met was a marina view for gf in SL. We were honored a 7:30am arrival so I didn't ask to wait or change.

For all of them I put my requests in an email to IPO. I send them a short email with my res number, name and arrival date in subject line. I put in my request and a few words about I'm all set with my FP+ ADR's and MB's .

I just did that for my August trip so hopefully all well.

Also I do shortly after I book and do not check back.

Hi All!!

We are getting soooo close to our stay at GF!! So excited!!

We are booked Standard Room--Main Building! I am wondering if there is anything special I should request for our room location?? Floor, proximity to lounge, etc?

Thanks!!

I read somewhere on the DIS that the club lounges no longer have cold bottled water. Is this true?

It seems silly to have bottled water delivered! Does anyone know if there is filtered water available anywhere in WL? I could bring our water bottles from home...

Thanks!
At poly and gf they give you a carafe of water to take to your room(just ask).

At Cr they did water bottles to take, but you had to ask for them.

Time frame was January to June this year.

Thanks for the detailed information, KOOK :goodvibes.

I'm sure you will have a perfect trip :wizard:. Disney during the holidays is amazing and staying at the WL just makes it that much better :santa:.

I loved our room location which was on the 3rd floor across the atrium from the lounge (which is on the 4th floor). Our room had a pretty view of the beach pool and Poly and was also convenient to the lounge :).

Yes we are seeing tons of animals...we are very happy with are room location..zebra trail second pod (cl guest go in first three pods) ..Second pod is also right by elevator down to pool...no complaints so far ..you are lucky 10 days CL would be great!!!

Checked in to akl cl today for the first time, had been worried about room being far from lounge, but it's not the case at all ...very easy...they said they use to the first three pods off the lobby for cl guests..we are in the second on zebra trail ...and super easy to get to pool...view is great ...evening offerings great...so far so good!!! Any questions ?

What did you originally request? How is your view? I just switched from the Yacht Club to AKL CL for my upcoming trip. Are the rooms updated?

My original request was zebra trail..close to lobby...but when I checked in it wasn't noted..so they where going to put me in kudos trail...but then he said he had two rooms to pick from on zebra...The view is good honestly... I think the view is going to be relatively the same in any room on zebra ...except maybe first two rooms might be too close to the rock.

To all the CL experts,

What I the #1 thing I should know/do/ request when staying Beach Club CL.

This will be our first and only, CL and Deluxe Resort stay. I want to make sure I know every thing I need to, so that I can make the most of this insane amount of money I am about to spend.

Have the rooms been refurbished? I don't like the pictures of the bedspreads that they have on the Disney website and I saw somewhere on these boards that someone had posted up new pictures of the CL rooms that look a lot nicer but those are the only ones that I've seen anywhere on the internet.

We will be staying CL at AKL this fall. If no one is outside to meet us, do we just go to the front desk?

I know we will be on the 4th floor and have read room are usually the first three pods ... is that correct?

Anyone who has stayed at AKL recently, were you given a number to text during your stay for assistance?

Any and all information is greatly appreciated!

Oh Yeah for seeing tons of animals!! I like the idea of the second pod being so close to the pool to (( win win )) thank you for answering all my questions since we've never stayed at AKL before. It's just my husband and I going this trip so I felt it was a good chance to stay there without grandkids since I know MK resorts would be best with them along. But who knows maybe will fall in love with AKL and it will become our new Love over GF : ) Yeah I went a bit overboard with this trip since just the two of us ... 10 nights at AKL CL and 4 nights at GF RP CL, so it's a big splurge but it's our 35 anniversary so I went for it.
Looking forward to your overall review and please let me know if you do a travel report : )
Have fun and enjoy!!

To all the CL experts,

What I the #1 thing I should know/do/ request when staying Beach Club CL.

A return vacation to Poly CL? :rotfl2::rotfl:

Hmmm...for me, the best approach isn't thinking in terms of squeezing value. When we stay club level, we use a very different mental mode then when we stay at Pop. I don't really make special room requests at any CL's.

Time = money. CL =maximizing the value of our time. That's our key to appreciating CL. Instead of focusing on the lowest $, we focus on the value of our time. CL is a more efficient way to vacation, if your focus is quality time. It's the opposite of the DDP (which we've also used).

It's a mental a paradigm shift. If we need help, there's a CL CM available to help. I also don't have to worry that a second latte isn't in the "plan". I just push a button, and my cup is full. CL staff can't do everything, but gosh, often all you have to do is ask. Their role is a bit like trip insurance; ensuring guests have the most relaxing vacation possible.

Other things to know about CL: 1.) know the assorted meal hours. 2.)When we stay non-CL, we're kind of park commandos. CL helps us appreciate our resort. 3.) you are allowed to bring snacks/drinks to the pool or your room, just use paper cups/plates.

Sure CL's not free, but we find 'value' in all of the above.

It's a mental a paradigm shift. CL liberates us. If we need something, there's a CL person available to help us. I don't have to worry that a second latte isn't in the "plan". I just walk up, push a button, and my cup is full. CL staff can't do everything, but gosh, if you don't know something, all you have to do is ask. CL staff are a bit like trip insurance, and their job is largely to help you have the most relaxing vacation possible.

I guess the other thing to know about CL is the assorted meal hours, and managing your day to access the lounge. When we stay non-CL, we're kind of park commandos. CL helps us appreciate our resort. Also, you are allowed to bring food to your room, and you are allowed to bring snacks/drinks to the pool. You just can't bring glass to the pool. If you want to take food out of the lounge, use the paper cups/plates.

Sure CL's not free, but we find 'value' in all of the above. I say this as someone who also likes Pop. Accessing the CL lounge is just far easier than accessing the Food Court.

That said, it isn't for everyone. I get that some guests relax best when they spend the least. CL is a more pampered approach.

I am locinf loving the idea of the pampered approach

I'll be arriving at the YC CL in about 11 days. I'd like to put in a room request. Does anyone know when I should email the IPO with my room request? Thanks for your help! :thumbsup2
