EXPIRED - Direct Sales Incentives - Summer 2020 - Expanded list!

While the incentives made buying at riviera pretty attractive, I was still mostly set on buying something resale but now with these mysterious potential new direct perks my head is spinning and I’m stressed out about the 9/16 deadline. I just can’t make up my mind!!! Anyone else?

Pretty attractive is not the same as drop dead gorgeous.

Put a down payment down, setup extended terms for payment if you want them, and don't sign the contract right away. Once you sign the contract the 10 days for cancellation start at that point.

Do not get your hopes up to high. I would consider the only perk really worthwhile to be ticket discounts which today is discounts on the APs. Maybe they move discounts to length of stay tickets for discounts who knows. I would be happy but can't see them adding anything with $$$ value to perks.

Yes, but I don't want to buy at Riviera. I'm debating mainly between BLT and CCV at this point. BLT may not be available though, since it's sold out and CCV is not, per their marketing.

I would think an offer for discounted length-of-stay tickets makes a lot of sense. It's a parallel discount to the AP discount, which is not available right now. It would be nice to have discounted tickets on both length-of-stay tickets and APs, once AP tickets come back.

Yes I meant changing the UY on a FW. I had seen a chart with FW's and assigned UY's - I just looked at it again and it does say "recommended use year", implying you can change it. October is my preferred UY.

Thanks!
Yes you can assign any UY you want. I have FWs 47 & 48 at CCV with a Sep UY.

get the paper work started...you have 30 days to think about it - to sign the contract - I did that with my CCV contract- and ended up signing on day 30

Thanks! I assumed as much. If only I had read about these "exciting new benefits in the pipeline for direct members" five days ago 😞

Now the question is.. do I accept this missed opportunity (saving money/increased FOMO), or consider adding an Oct use year to my Sept contract.. 😬
If you are buying, I would add the october use year, as its not worth it otherwise.

If you own A Sept UY, and Oct UY is not an add on. It is a brand new membership. You can not combine points between the two for a single trip unless you transfer and then you have to call to use them.

If you are going to buy riviera direct, do it because it’s your favorite DVC, and only do it if you are certain you will own there for 20+ years.

Direct purchase (of any resort) loses a ton of value when resold, often 40%, whereas resale you’re out whatever the market has moved plus the commission.

Riviera has the highest MFs of any DVC so it’s a poor financial choice to purchase unless you’re convinced you’ll use most of your points there.

Mystery future incentives/perks may be great or may not pertain to you at all. They may pull other perks to pay for the new perks. I wouldn’t ever base a direct purchase on what’s inside the mystery box.

Would you also get the incentive level if you were to do
150 Riv
150 OKW?
No, unfortunately. It has to be resorts on the same type of incentives. So it could be RIV, AUL, or CCV for the $40 off.
You could combine 150 OKW, and 150 at AKL, SSR, Poly, or BLT, but the 300-point discount for those is only $13 off.

Riviera has the highest MFs of any WDW DVC.

All three off-site beach resorts are higher. Hilton Head is $9.10 and Aulani is $8.33.Vero Beach wins though; per point 2020 dues are $10.13. :scared:

Has anyone called recently and know what sold out resorts they have without being waitlisted?

I know AKV is available, I was asking about changes to direct perks and they were trying to get me to add on to my existing 160pt AKV resale contract.
They said min is 50pt or 100pt to get full benefits, but could buy 50 now and 75 after 10/1 when it goes to 125 min.
He also said my UY was available.

By the way I didn’t get info on changes to blue card benefits
