Experiences with wdw kids clubs?

I am thinking about leaving my ds (10) at one of the clubs for an evening. Looking for any good or bad experiences you may have had...which clubs used? I am leaning towards either the GF or Poly because dbf and I will be at MK for EMH that night.

DD stayed at the Poly Neverland Club and she loved it. I would make a Ressie to make sure your DD has a spot, they can fill up. She was there for 3 hours, she arrived at 5:45 so she had her dinner there and a snack. She watched a movie, made a craft, played video games and had a riot with other kids. She cannot wait to go back this year, we love it to!

We used the Sandcastle Club at the BC. The kids - 10, 8, and 6 all had a ball. They ate, played and played and played, watch a video, had cookies and milk, etc.

We were staying at the YC- so we dropped the kids off, ate at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and then walked to Epcot to walk around the world showcase and watch Illuminations.

It was a great evening and the best part was that the kids loved it and asked when they could go back there again!

Do you usually have to have an advance reservation for this? We are going 8/28-9/3 and I would like to maybe use the Neverland club for my girls but I do not want to have to schedule the day ahead, I would like to play-it-by-ear and decide while we are there.
Please share your experience with me. TIA!

If I remember correctly I made an reservation just like with a dining place. I think I even had to give a credit card # to hold the spots. Does anyone else have a better memory than me?

My dd's request a night "to themselves" at a kids club during every WDW vacation so my dh and I try to work it out. Hands down favorite is the Neverland Club at the Polynesian with Simba's at the AKL a close second.

What about child care for a 3 yr old DS. Is there a certain age limit?

I think they have to be 4 years old and potty trained if I remember right. There are babysitting services that will come to your room that work with younger children, but I don't have any personal experience with them. Someone else can probably give you some recommendations though. Good luck!

I also made my ressie when reserving my dining in Dec. I had an awesome Cm who when I said only 2 at Yachtsman asked if I wanted to make a childs club ressie with him at the same time. He needed an aprox time of arrival and the CC # to hold. I think it might be been a 24hr advance cancellation. He did say the Neverland and other clubs do fill up, and better ressie than be sorry. Even on a Wed night there was a bunch of kids at the Neverland club at 6pm.

To the OP I would say it's probably best to go ahead and make your ressie if at all possible.

I took my kids to the Neverland Club the night before Easter so I could get their baskets together without them seeing. They loved it and want to go back.

DS loved the place at WL (Cub's Den?). In fact, when he was 4, he said it was his favorite part of the trip. He's 10 now and hasn't gone in a few years, but he thinks he would still like it because it has video games.

We left our five year old son at the GF Mouseketeer Club last week while we dined at V&A. Although we stayed offsite, I made the reservation (with a credit card) when I made the reservation for the restaurant. It's in a small room next to Gasperilla's (sp) Grille, with 3 or 4 individual TV screens, beanbag chairs, tables and toys. The check-in and security procedure were reassuring.

Our little boy LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it! Not only did he get to watch his favorite movies and eat his favorite food, but he also had three different craft projects done for us when we returned to pick him up. Although I will probably let him try the Neverland Club if we eat at the GF, I wouldn't hesitate to leave him here again. You can't beat the size or individual attention.

Although we are staying on site for some of our upcoming trip, 8 nights in a FW cabin, for the rest of our trip, we're off site. Can you use WDW kids clubs when staying off site? I really hope so!

Yes. I'm not sure if there are any restrictions, but I was sure to mention that I would be eating at a resort restaurant that night, when I made the reservation for the club. The club reservation also requires a cc number.
