Hi all,
We are thinking of faxing our grocery order to Albertsons as we will be in a towncar. I have read a lot of the recomendations on these boards. I'm wondering if anybody has done this and then after you have gotten the food into the villa found out that several of the perishable items have had an expiration date of the same/next day or quite soon after? This just suddenly came to me today as I was listening to a radio program of people complaining about supermarkets that deliver to your home, and then realizing that the food won't last that long! Do you specify a certain amount of days before expiration?

First time going 'home' AND taking the INLS  and I want it to go smoothly! ::yes::
Thanks for any help!

Good question, is there a website or anything to order the food from? We arrive Saturday, it would be great if we didn't have to go shopping!

I haven't had a problem with expiration dates. My issue was when I was specific about a brand and they did not subsitute when they didn't have the brand. They make you pay for your order, shop and pay again on a regular line.

FYI, I know right subsitutions allowed but apparently they don't sub on alchohol so I would recommend a ___ or ___ statement.

I friend of mine just used wegoshop.com and said they were great! You can specify what store you want them to shop at. Just need to be careful about brands, sizes etc to describe what you want with alternatives in case the store doesn't carry them.

We just used Wegoshop.com and I don't have enough good things to say about them.

When a couple of the items we requested weren't available at the store, Eric (one of the owners) called us from the store to ask about possible substitutes. They were on time, kept cold items in a cooler and were beyond friendly.

We will use them again.

I have an order placed with We Go Shop also. Our delivery is Monday 12/20. I will post the following week when I get home. So far, communication with them was prompt and friendly. I am actually looking forward to a well stocked kitchen that I do not have to shop for. The kitchen is one of our favorite things about DVC. Not that I am crazy about cooking, but being able to fix a quick meal or snack or make a drink to enjoy on the balcony can't be beat.

For those of you who have used wegoshop, how has it worked at the time of delivery? I used netgrocer and since it was paid for at the time I ordered, I didn't have to be there in order to receive it. Can you specify a certain time for delivery, so that you don't have to spend an inordinate amount of time just hanging around waiting??

Yes you can specify a specific time and they are exact. We specified 4:00 in the afternoon at our villa. They arrived at about 3:58 P.M. Their communication is so good that I have no doubt they would have called me if they were going to be a little late or early.

Thanks. Looks like it's wegoshop in June.

Thanks all for the responses. It looks like it might be easier to use wegoshop.com! I must admit, spending just a little bit more for items to be delivered to the villa seems worth it. :D

Well we are off in seven hours....Ehhhh what am I still doing up.. Anyway we are scheduled for delivery at 4PM with Wegoshop. I decided to use them because of all the wonderful things I have heard about them on the DIS. I will have a computer with me and will also try to post tomorrow on our experience.

:cool1: Look at my clock!

This is all new to me. We are traveling to our home at BWV this June. Are you telling me that there are stores that deliver to the Villa other than using the Disney stores on site?

Yes. You can use wegoshop or netgrocer. I have used netgrocer twice before and will be using wegoshop in June. It's nicer than having to stop and shop off-site or pay the higher prices at your resort.
