We're going soon to these places.......

What are the very best couple of restaurants in each:

DL? CA?

Also, we're staying at Grand Californian. Are there incredible restaurants in there we could do for bkfst or dinner?

We may try Downtown Disney - but we're looking for nice dining other than RFCafe & Hard Rock. What do you suggest for a dinner?

Lastly, where'd you suggest as the BEST character bkfst within these parks, DD, or the GrCal ????? thanks!

IMO the best character breakfast is Goofy's Kitchen over at thw DLH. It has the best selction of food and best charcter interaction. It's around $27pp for breakfast. They are only open for breakfast (until 1 or 2pm) and dinner. If you are lookingfor the best character breakfast inside the parks then the option is Minies Character breakfast at the Plaza Inn.

As for the best dining options in the parks it depends on whtgher you want table service or fast food. Over in DL Blue bayou is nice but I've heard mixed reviews since they reopened. As for ff, Rancho del Zocalo is great. In DCA there's Aerial's for sit down but I've never eaten there. Another table service is Wine Country Tratoria (?) and their food was ncie as I recall. We usualy just do Award Weiners or Taste Piots Grill for ff.

At the GCH you could do Storytelelrs for breakfast or dinner. At breakfast there is a buffet or menu option. The bufet is pretty good. APlus ther are characters that stroll. We usually do this at least once during our trip. For dinner there is Napa Rose. The food is wonderful but can be a bit pricy. For a ff lunch there is White Water Snacks which is of decent quality.

In DTD there is no Hard Rock, sorry. But there is RFC as you mentioned, House of Blues, Ralph Brennen's Jazz Kitchen, just toname a few. You could also try Granville's or Hook's Point over at th DLH or the PCH Grill at Paradise Pier.

I'm not sure of you have been to DL before but everything is really close to eachother. It's not like WDW where everything is spread out. DCA is only lke 500 yards max from DL. Plus the hotels are all very cose to eachother, DTD, and the parks. Plus there are also off site options to eat at that are close by. HTH.

my dh and i went off for a great night, without the kids, at the jazz kitchen...highly recommend it!! we had a wonderful ohana breakfast with lilo and stitch...great banana french toast, and the interaction with the kids was so cute...singing, dancing, and stitch. I wish i could remember the name of the counter pizza place in DL. the pasta was so good, we ate there twice during the same trip. If you get the chance, go to goofy's kitchen, it's a great buffet. the kids sing, dance, and the characters are always floating around. ariel's grotto was great for a sit down dinner...but we're more of a buffet-type people. i'm going to search for the pizza/pasta place's name and post it for you. have fun...cali was such a great vacation for my family, i hope it is great for you too.

okay, i searched, it's in disneyland, called pizza port. also, thinking about breakfasts, we went to plaza inn, main street, and my husband said it was the best breakfast buffet he has ever had. even my finicky daughter, she was 4, found food that she liked. hope this helps!!

Our family favorites are:

Yamabuki, a Japanese restaurant at the Paradise Pier Hotel for dinner
Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel for breakfast
Clam chowder in a bowl either at DL or DCA (especially on a cold night).

The older kids also like ESPN at Downtown Disney.

My fav rarely gets a mention :sad1: -- French Market in DL's New Orleans Square. It's cafeteria service with outdoor seating. They often have the jazz band playing, which is a nice accompaniment to our meal, and we get to people watch (train station and Haunted Mansion nearby). More importantly, the food variety is good -- everyone in my family can find something they like.

Here are our favorites:

Character breakfast - Hands down for us is Lilo and Stitch at the Paradise Pier Hotel. It has the best character interaction and the best food of all of the character meals. This is the only one we will do anymore!

Disneyland Park - Pizza Port. The kids love the pizza and we love the pasta!
Blue Bayou. It is expensive, but totally worth it!

CA Adventure - Wine Country Trattoria. Yummy lasagna and it is so nice to be able to have a glass of wine and relax.

DTD - Rainforest Cafe and LA Brea Bakery are really the only places we like a lot. Tortilla Jo's is ok. We've had terrible experiences at Jazz Kitchen, ESPN Zone, and the worst service and food ever at Naples! Rainforest is great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. LBB is perfect for a quick breakfast!

Anaheim Area - Bucca Di Beppo - great italian food, huge portions, and great family atmosphere. It's just down Harbor about a mile.
