Have any of you had experince sleeping on one of the pull out couches in the units? If so, can you please tell me which DVC you were at and how awful or not-awful it was. Thanks so much!

We were at WDW 3/31-4/6 in a studio, 5 nights at VWL and 2 nights at AKV Kidani. 2 adults, DS (15) and DD (11). We took turns sleeping on the pullout. It really was not bad, at all. The Wilderness Lodge sofa bed was slightly less comfy than Animal Kingdom Lodge, but they both were fine. I didn't have any complaints. Neither did my husband or children. Have fun on your trip!!! :)

Just back from Animal Kingdom and slept on the pull-out for most nights we were there. It really wasn't bad at all, I slept quite comfortably.

We have stayed at Bay Lake Tower a number of times and I have used the pull out sofa. While it is not as nice as the real bed it is actually quite comfortable and far better than expected.

We found the sofa bed at BLT to be REALLY comfortable. We personally used it in the past and have had several guests use it as well. Everyone was pleasantly surprised how well they slept on it. Sitting on it during the day is another thing: less comfortable than you would expect.

I slept on the sofa beds quite often with all my marathon vists to WDW. My friend uses her DVC points to book larger suites (1 and 2 bedrooms) and insist that I stay in the living room to save my points (yeah, she's the best!) The sofa beds all seem to be comfortable at BLT, Boardwalk, Beach Club and OKW. Nevertheless I do believe that the smaller chair pullouts are much more comfortable than the larger couch pullouts if your room has it.

Wow, thanks everyone! Im so relieved to hear this!! We're bringing my in-laws and I told them I want them to take the Master Suite but they are refusing and insist on using the pullout.

You can also request an 'egg crate' mattress topper which makes the sofabeds more comfortable.

To quote Will Rogers: "I never met a sofa bed I liked." Oh wait, he said "I never met a man I didn't like." :rolleyes1

For me, I don't think any sofa bed is ever as comfortable as a regular bed.

Here is a recent discussion about this same issue:

And I second the egg crate mattress topper. That helped quite a bit.

I slept on the sofa bed at BLT and BCV. Both were very comfortable. I liked getting to spread out. My DD "had" to sleep in the big bed a couple of times.

Slept on sofa beds at a number of resorts and can honestly say I am most impressed! I do believe however that they have upgraded the sofa beds recently at a OKW! Never had a bad night sleep at WDW so thats gotta be a good reference :-) I have visited over 30 times :-)

DS slept on the pullout at VWL in January and said it was really comfortable (and he's a pretty sensitive sleeper when it comes to mattresses).

My kids were sleeping on the sofa bed and chair at BLT - one night I was watching TV with them and I was amazed at how comfortable sofa bed was. I could have easily slept on it. And I have disc problems in my lower back.

After 3 nights on the sofa bed at Jambo House / Animal Kingdom Lodge, I just left the sofa in its regular position and slept on it that way. It was not grossly uncomfortable, but the bar was more evident to my back each night...

My kids had no complaints on prior trips...but they only weighed 60 lbs at the time...

I would say it is not ideal but it is manageable...

Wow- I'm surprised! We have had very uncomfortable sofa beds our last 3 trips! AK-J was bad- slanted down so you felt like you were going to slide off of the end, and metal in your back. BWV wasn't good but was better. It has been so discouraging that we are considering staying in a regular room with 2 beds for part of our trip. 8 nights not sleeping takes its toll.
Also, we mentioned it at the AK, and housekeeping agreed that the beds are uncomfortable, but sadly told us they no longer offer any types of toppers....

We recently had a split stay between SSR, in a studio, and OKW in a 1 bedroom. My two kids, 9 and 7, slept on the sofa bed.

At SSR, they complained endlessly. Their backs hurt, it wasn't squishy at all, it was too slippery for the sheets, sky is falling, etc etc. At first I figured they were just trying to scam their way into sleeping with us and they're way too big for that, but I laid on it and thought it was pretty bad... just hard and uncomfortable.

At OKW, it was more "mattress style" (instead of the weird velcro type pads at SSR) and they slept comfortably and never said a word. I also laid on it and thought it was comparable to the pullout couch we have at home, which has a good quality inflatable mattress. I probably could have slept on that one.

I think this is the last trip we will get away with not booking a 2 bedroom, though.

We were at Jambo House in March. My 20 year old daughter slept on the sofa bed. She is 5'8 and it was just about too short for her. She said it was not the most comfortable either.
