I'm starting to plan my trip for the Expedition Everest Challenge at the beginning of May. Right now I'm looking at arriving on Thursday and leaving on Monday.
For race participants there's a special rate of $95/night before tax at All Star Sports.
I also checked the rates online using the spring special offer and got
$85.60 for Thu
$101.60 for Fri
$101.60 for Sat
$85.60 for Sun
(all rates before tax)
I'm thinking about splitting the stay up into 3 separate reservations (Thu, Fri+Sat, Sun) so I can get the best possible rate for each night. I've done this before with 2 back-to-back reservations at the same resort and while I know Disney doesn't guarantee that I can stay in the same room it's worked out for me both times.
I'm just wondering if having 3 reservations complicates it a lot more compared to 2 reservations. Has anyone else done something like this?

. That's a good idea to get something locked in at a low rate. Like you said, you could always change later
