 Are the top dollar Resorts worth the money, just want some feed back, I really want to stay @least one of them on my next trip, i have always stayed in the moderate or value. :grouphug: nana2tots

I'd recommend the WL or the AKL. They are deluxe resorts but the rates are much lower than the other deluxes. :) Definitely give them a try at least once so you'll know. :)

I think it really depends on what you're looking for in a resort. The deluxe resorts have much larger rooms, sit down restaurants, optional valet parking, and typically more elaborate theming. Also, the bedrooms have two queens instead of doubles. Another advantage could be location (e.g. the monorail resorts or the Epcot area resorts). It's really up to you. :)

completely depends upon you.

my boss use to say that he would never stay at a WDW resort period -they were too expensive.

work send him to the YC for a conference.

Guess where he only stays now - YC....

I would try one on the last day of my trip - and see how you like it - if it doesn't appeal to you - you won't be out a ton of money.

If you decide that is the way to go - on trips after you will know - then you only have decide which deluxe????

I have stayed in all types - the deluxes are wonderful - but not if your entire time is spend in the parks.

however if you like to spend some time at your resort - to relax, swim, eat, or even just for a break - they are pretty great.

I think whether or not they are worth the money totally depends on the way you vacation. For us, the trip is as much about the resort as it is the parks. We spend lots of time at our resort. We love enjoying the pools and recreation options, trying all the restaurants, and just walking around soaking up the atmosphere. We love to sit in the Wilderness Lodge lobby (especially the rocking chairs) and listen to the music. We spent tons of time relaxing on our AKL balcony watching the animals. When we stayed at the Boardwalk, we spent a lot of time just strolling around and enjoying the sights and sounds. So for us, yes, they are worth it. If you are more a "parks" kind of person who just needs a place to sleep and shower, then the answer is probably no.

I totally agree! "My" resort is my favorite part of the trip! I'm lucky that I can stay wherever I want (at least for now ;) ) and WL, AKL, GF and BWI are suuuuuch a pleasure! A Disney vacation can be so much "work" it's nice to have deluxe digs!! princess: :cloud9:

I've stayed at all of the Deluxe resorts except for the Grand Floridian, and the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I have loved most of the resorts I've stayed in, but didn't feel that I didn't take full advantage of the resorts because I was too busy going to the parks. I bought DVC, so I'll be staying at a deluxe resort, but ideally, I think if I could, I would stay at a moderate for the bulk of my trip, and end it with a couple of non-park days at a deluxe so I can enjoy all the amenities there.

It all matters on your taste. For me, this is how it goes-
GF- Too Pricy
Polly- Old, Run-Down
YC- Okay, Price is a little High
BW- Worth the cash
