I went to AK last year, but EE wasn't open yet. What's the best strategy for AK now? We'll be there before the park opens. I'm thinking of sprinting to KS, grabbing a FP and then meeting the rest of my group at EE. But you tell me. What works best?

Also, the last time we were the we basically just did the Safari, River Rapids, Primeval Whirl, Dinosaur, and Bug's Life. We are 32 and 23. What else should we do there? We feel like we didn't see a lot of things the last time because we were in such a hurry.

Here's the "secret", if you want to call it that.

show up at park opening, go DIRECTLY to EE, get a "FP", then ride the ride WITHOUT using the FP, then come back through, use the FP and you get to ride it again. If you get there early enough, you can ride it roughly four times with little to no wait. I would recommend NOT doing this on a Morning EMH at the AK.

get your EE FP first, then quick get into the standby line or single rider line and ride at least once. Then run to get your KS pass...then go to Dinoland and enjoy everything there...your FP time will be there then for KS or EE most likely KS first...ride them as close together as you can, then Kali, have your change of clothes and then grab lunch after changing and enjoy your after lunch hours seeing the animals, see It's Tough to be a Bug, Festival of the Lion King, ( it is amazing) .We were there the 11-21...and AK was jammed everytime we went...you will be hitting a slower time, but EE has def put that park on the map so to say.
Have great trip!

Here's another tip :thumbsup2 Check with the CM at the entrance that the standby wait time showing above the entrance is correct. We were there a few weeks ago and it was showing 70 mins. People were choosing not to stand in line but to get a fast pass (for a return over 2 hours later). I overhead the CM say 'it's actually only 15 mins standby' and it was - we went into the line and were on in less than 15 mins :rotfl:

We went to AK twice a couple of weeks ago. What we did was always make sure we got there a little before the park opened. Once they let us in, we followed the other hundreds of people all rushing to EE. (What was annoying was that there were sooo many people actually sprinting their way to EE. I saw so many CM's yelling at people to walk. Most of these people were grown adults too. Kinda ridiculous in my opinion.) Once at EE, we got a fast pass, then waited in the stand by line. Once we got off and went right back to the stand by line. It always seemed to move pretty fast even though they said it was 40 minutes. Then we would go do a different ride until time for our fast pass! Have fun!

For the life of me I can not get people running to something. Like, honest running and hurdling...I've seen it. WHAT do you plan to accomplish? :confused3 The ride is NOT going anywhere!

we have just come back from WDW, when we arrivd in the park, i was told to go and get the fast passes for EE, and meet them back at the tree. so i went to get them, came back, went to its tough to be a bug, then we watch lion king then pochantoas (sp), off to Africa and FP Safaris, then did the trail, then it was FP time for EE, rode that the, time for KS FP lunch off to Dinoland, did DInosaur and Prim Whirl.

We are headed down in a few weeks, and I had the same question. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought you could only have 1 FP outstanding at a time...if this is true, how can we grab a FP for EE, and one for KS at the same time? Or, do I have it all wrong?

Thanks,
Andy

Memorial day we were there at opening and headed through Dinoland...Got a fastpass and then rode EE and then got off and headed to Dino land

Then we went to Dinosaur and headed back to EE and rode again. Then got another FP....Headed to Safari and it had a 20 min standby and we rode that..>Then our fast passes allowed us to get one for Kali River rapids...So we then heade to EE and used our FP again...Had lunch and rode Kali...

So all in all we managed to ride EE 5 times on Memorial day and never did really wait in line.

One time Dennis Rodman and his "Girl Friend" came through the VIP line and got on with us!!!

The 5th time we rode my cousins had given us their FP's.

We had a ball and did everything, but it was busy and that makes it not so relaxing. I can't wait to go back in December for a short visit when the crowds are down.

have fun!

You can get a second FP as soon as 1 of 2 things has happened:
1. The window for your first FP has opened. (If your FP return time is 10:00-11:00, you can get an FP after 10:00.)
2. If your FP return time is more than 2 hours away, you can get a second FP at the 2 hour mark.

Since you'd likely get your EE FPs shortly after opening, ride, THEN get Safari FPs your EE window would likely be open by the time you made it to the Safari (or close, at least).

We were at WDW Aug 8 to 17. We went to AK twice and did the following: (1) arrived 30 minutes prior to opening; (2) once park opened, went directly to EE; (3) got FP; (4) rode standby; (5) went to Dinoland and did attractions; (6) went to KS and rode standby; (7) did other attractions; (8) returned to EE later in the day.

Three things:

(1) Like other parks, CM's did not care that we returned to EE after our FP window expired.

(2) KS was never very crowded. Lines were usually under 20 minutes (and we rode this four or five times and walked past it several other times). In fact, the one time we used a FP, the CM's never even collected the FP and we could have used them again. Clearly, EE has affected the number of people who ride KS.

(3) Asia area was swamped. Lines for Kali River Rapids were long all day and FP were gone early. If this ride is one you want to do, get a FP shortly after EE FP window allows you to obtain another FP.
