I’m in Florida now and the gf wants to ride EE.

I’ve a fear of exposed heights and drops and so am new to coasters, however I am trying to fight my fears.

I’ve so far done Hagrids, Gringotts, The Mummy, Tower or Terror, Space Mountain, Tron and Gardians of the Galaxy.

I loved all the above (Tower of Terror the least), however I walked to see EE and freaked out and had to leave the park.
The slow uphill worries me, the backwards part worries me but that drop looks awful and far too high for me to want to do.
How does this compare to anything I’ve faced my fear of above?

Thanks

Honestly, if you have done Guardians of the Galaxy you will be fine. I love EE and it isn't a sharp drop... it twists so you aren't going straight if that helps. You have walls of the mountain around you for most of it other than the first climb. Also, GotG is the only coaster at Disney that has ever made me feel remotely nauseous.

You are perfectly safe and I feel like Rockin Rollercoaster and Gardians are much more extreme than EE.

Oh really that’s good to hear, Gardians has some drops on it but as it’s inside in the dark I cannot tell how big, but deff not as tall as EE from what I’ve read, so EE isn’t that steep once in there?

Maybe it looks worse from the ground.

The backwards part, is it a downward spiral or a backwards drop, wondering if it’s a steep or shallow angle etc

Thanks

My DD19 is not a roller coaster person and she loves EE - it’s her favorite.
I think you should definitely give it a try.
Have fun!

I definitely agree that EE is a great ride and if you made it onto tower of terror than you should definitely give it a try.

I would add that if you've done Hagrid's, you'll be fine on EE. The backwards part on Hagrid's is much longer and more intense. While my mom was glad she did Hagrid's, she didn't enjoy it very much...but EE is probably her favorite coaster of all time. Also, I think you FEEL more secure on EE rather than the open-ness of Hagrid's. The slow crawl up the hill in EE is a little scary because it gives you too much time to think (LOL) so just close your eyes if the height is an issue. Once you get going, it's amazing!

Go see that fish show around the corner, you'll do anything to escape that.

Remember, this is Disney not Cedar Fair, Six Flags, or Universal. The rides are never as intense.

I think you will be fine with EE. It is a fun ride. Let us know if you rode it, and how it went!

Thanks I was beaten into ToT and it was the setting where we did the full drop twice… Came out ok but it was nasty, doing it again though.

Tomorrow is Animal Kindom so EE then if I can get my head in gear so to speak

Meant to be tomorrow so will do, I need to just not look at it at all before getting in lol

If you have already survived guardians, EE will be a breeze.
I found Gardians a breeze, hands up the entire ride and done it three times so far, fourth today hopefully if we can get a spot

Just the height of EE and the drop I’m worried about

If you have a fear of exposed heights, I would recommend you ride in the back half of the train. You might not want to be in the front when the train stops at the top of the mountain - briefly.
