Expedia.ca is it reliable, do you get the worst rooms?

I have booked our rooms thru Expedia.ca and we recieved a very good price. I have never booked thru Expedia before and I am worrying that when we get to the hotel that they won't have any record of our reservation or that they will give us the less desirable room (I thought I read here once before how someone was given a dingy room under the stairwell because they were booked thru a wholesaler), has anyone had any experience dealing with Expedia that could put our mind at ease, thanks.

I havent book for DL thru expedia, but I've booked for other vacations or one night stays. I've never felt like I was given anything less or worse because of who I booked thru. The hotel is happy to have full rooms, they dont really care where the money came from.

I've booked through Expedia numerous times for DL properties. Never had a bad room and have been upgraded several times. I wouldn't worry about it.

I booked through expedia.ca for our Disney vacation as well, I did not have any issues with our hotel, car rental, or Disney 5 day hopper tickets that I bought.

Stop worrying and start enjoying all the planning you get to do now.

Have a great vacation.

I booked DLH through expedia last march and got UPGRADED to a suite!! We were thrilled because I, too, was afraid I would get "the bottom of the barrel" room. We did pay for a view room and the cheerleaders were at the hotel so I imagine they took up all the regular rooms and we got bumped up! It was fantastic!

I have used Expedia a lot, not just for DL and have always been happy. Travelocity on the other hand let me book a "resort/pool" room at DLH for our Nov trip and when I called the hotel to let them know what our Request were for view/tower, I was told travelocity automatically codes it "Pool" view and we wanted "resort" view. No one can "change" it so it is frustrating! I won't use travelocity again for DL but still use them for other trips.

If you shop, you can find incredible rates at times, so good in fact, you are sure it must be a mistake ! We did a ski trip and stayed in a $500/night condo we found on travelocity for $120!! It has never been that price again but to be sure, I keep looking just in case-lol!

Still, call the hotel and make your "requests" if you have them regarding view, tower, etc. and they will be noted on your reservation.

Until we became DVC members we booked almost all of our vacations through Expedia, and we'll continue to use them as a source for the non DVC ones.

We have only been unhappy once with our room and that was not Expedia's fault, it was just a crappy place. They were very helpful and helped us find a room that was better and available.

My only caution is to do your research for the hotel you want to book. Find the deal on Expeida and use other websites, like the DIS or trip advisor, to do your research before you book.

We have also never been lucky enough to be upgraded, so make sure you book a room that you would be satisfied with, an upgrade is a sprinkle of pixie dust.

We quite often book through expedia.ca for hotel rooms. :thumbsup2 The reason we do, is primarily because of price. Have not specifically used it for DL resort, but our experience has been good. Upon arrival at hotels, we have always been given the specific type of room that we book with no problems.

Enjoy your trip! :sunny:

PS
As a side note, in trying to locate a price and time availability for DL Hotel, it seems every time I put in, it comes up unavailable or full. (trying for anytime in July or August next year) :confused3
Anyone else find a lot of "unavailable" in booking times for DL Hotel?
We eventually decided to stay off property as it would blow the budget to stay there anyway.

I have booked through expedia and it's been fine. But if you are concerned call the hotel and confirm your reservation and room type.

Make sure you bring all your paperwork with you. That way if they try to say you have no reservation you can show them your paperwork to prove it.

I have booked theough Expedia many, many times. Have gotten some good prices and have always had fine rooms. Used then for the DLH once. I booked a standard room (which means parkinglot or roof view) I requested a room in the Sierra towe with two queen beds and a day bed and I had a grea room with a sideways view of the Neverland pool and the DLH courtyard., Yes the rook of Hooks points was not to far below but I was happy since the price was good.

Expedia is just fine. Nothing wrong with it. I've booked through Expedia for non DL trips, and I recently booked a trip to Disneyland through Travelocity. Both are different companies, but they offer the same services. And you can find some amazing deals on those sites with really nice hotels.

It just depends on which hotel has a deal going on at that time.

We've had the same experiences with Expedia as everyone else.

We've booked using Expedia many, many, many times, and we've never had a problem. Always received a great room, even at the DLH. This time we used Expedia to book at the Paradise Pier, and we arrive on October 21st. I have no worries at all....all I feel is EXCITED! :cool1:

Another satisfied Expedia customer. I have used them five times for the Disneyland Hotel, twice for Paradise Pier, once for the HoJo and once for the Tropicana. Never any problems whatsoever. Bring your paperwork, especially if you did a package with park tickets. In that case you will have vouchers for your tickets and once you check into your hotel (if its an onsite hotel) they will need those vouchers to turn them into tickets. If its offsite I believe you take the ticket vouchers to the ticket window at the park. I also suggest you call the hotel directly to ascertain they do have your reservation. It will make you feel better! Also, any resort fees, rollaway charges, etc. will have to be paid out of pocket.
