i turned around not long after we got to baggage claim to see brooke and jon.....

it didn't take long at all to get our luggage and we headed to the car. laguardia seemed MUCH smaller than hartsfield-jackson but maybe that's because of where our gate was.

jon was our photographer on the way to the car and he was directing us on what to do. here we are pretending to be running through the airport.

looking interested in whatever it is that we're seeing. i think i was still in my xanax daze.

pretending to hail a cab....

anna decided using her leg would probably work better....

super excited about being in NYC....can't you tell?

this is where we were headed when leaving the airport....

by this time it was around noon and we were all getting hungry. so jon found a little pizza joint in queens and we stopped for lunch. here's brooke getting some NYC pizza!

my first food porn pics of the trip! i went with plain pepperoni - figured i couldn't go wrong. it was good too!

we also decided to get some fried zucchini and this is what we got. the breading was kinda weird but the actual zucchini was good. and i don't know why they were served with fries but whatever!

more to come.....next we set foot on the island of manhattan and see times square!!!

Ohhhh, I just love it!! The city, and your trip report of course!! Just seeing the Manhattan skyline makes me want to go back there right now!

That pizza looks good! Not so sure about the fried zucchini though. Hehee!

Those catalogs in the back of the plane seats kept me busy for a while too. Some of the products they sell are hilarious!! Like a little step for your dogs and cats to walk up onto your bed, instead of jumping.

hi dawn...i will admit...i cheated and looked on facebook too! But it will be exciting to hear the stories behind the pictures.

I was going to show you my pic of flying over the statue of liberty while going to or from Newark (which is the closest I have ever gotten to NYC) to/from Paris (can't remember when i took it especially when I can't find it on facebook or on my shutterfly account and i am at work...if i remember i will have to look on my home computer to see if i still have it) I remember it being pretty cool!

Hey Dawn! I'm here for the ride. I can't wait to see everything! The kids want to go there before long. My big concern is driving down and having somewhere to park. I'm cutting in! You can find weekend or week-long rates at garages all over the city. I have a lot of sites with discounts if you're interested, let me know! Parking for a few days won't be cheap, but if you build it into your budget it's not too bad.

Awesome start Dawn! I was looking into the Paramount too as it seemed reasonably priced and the location looks awesome. I can't wait to hear how it was! I guess I should clarify, I was looking into a trip, which I didn't take, but still really, really, REALLY want to! I guess I will just experience it vicariously through you!
