Wow I love those pictures from the plane! I've been to the city so many times since I live right there and flown into JFK and Laguardia but never thought to take a picture like that.

I'm so excited to hear about how you like everything. People from Long Island, like me, feel like they're part of NYC So I'm excited to hear how your felt about everything

cool! it was a nice place but i do have to warn you (just in case i don't get another update done before you leave) - they are doing some heavy duty remodeling so the lobby and the front of the building are not very pretty right now. our view was of scaffolding! but i think all the rooms are already remodeled and they were really nice! small but nice. by the way, they don't have fridges so if you need anything cold bring a disposable cooler or buy one when you get there. that's what we did and just left it there for housekeeping to throw away. there were a few other small quirky things that went wrong but nothing major and i'm sure those things were a result of the confusion of the remodeling. plus i'm just used to dealing with the customer service you get at disney and that's like nowhere else in the world! have a great time!

i don't know why anna and brooke don't join.....they would love it! i'm on the internet more than they are though so that may be why - too overwhelming to keep up with everything! and yes, ma'am, you were my first. Those catalogs in the back of the plane seats kept me busy for a while too. Some of the products they sell are hilarious!! Like a little step for your dogs and cats to walk up onto your bed, instead of jumping.

the manhattan skyline is amazing. you see it in movies but it's nothing like seeing it with your own eyes. yes, those catalogs are super cool. they have really unique stuff in them! i have a feeling we'll be buying eli a set of those stairs when he gets older because he's so short!

I was on but computer kept messing up. It would take so long to load the page I would be logged out. I finally just stopped fighting with it, but I'm here!

hi dawn...i will admit...i cheated and looked on facebook too! But it will be exciting to hear the stories behind the pictures.

I was going to show you my pic of flying over the statue of liberty while going to or from Newark (which is the closest I have ever gotten to NYC) to/from Paris (can't remember when i took it especially when I can't find it on facebook or on my shutterfly account and i am at work...if i remember i will have to look on my home computer to see if i still have it) I remember it being pretty cool!

thanks! it was cool to see it with my own eyes. yes, anna's legs would help her out for sure! it's so funny - a lot of guys would see her in NYC and say, "do you work out" (because of her arms) and it got to the point where i'd respond, "no, she was just born that way."

Do the hotels have parking for guests? Do ya know? Love the pics he took of you guys messing around at the airport and the pic from the plane is so cool!

glad you're here! your kids would love it but be warned - it's exhausting! lots of walking. they would love central park and of course the disney store on fifth avenue. and i bet they'd like the museum of natural history (we didn't do it but it looked cool). not sure about parking but i will defer to what melissa (troobabie) said - she's an expert!

Awesome start Dawn! I was looking into the Paramount too as it seemed reasonably priced and the location looks awesome. I can't wait to hear how it was! I guess I should clarify, I was looking into a trip, which I didn't take, but still really, really, REALLY want to! I guess I will just experience it vicariously through you!

cool! i hope you guys had fun at niagra falls. my mom went there once and loved it. i don't remember the name of the place we stopped at but it was in a little mini mall. i like greek food in small doses. i can't stand olives and feta cheese is good in small doses so it just depends!

Most hotels don't have parking lots since there's no where to put them. Some of them offer discounts, but most don't. We really like Icon parking since they offer great deals, and have lots all over the city. We use them whenever we decide to drive in to see a show. As long as you bring the printed-out coupon and can show them your theater ticket, you get $10 parking after 6:00 so it's good. It depends on where you park (Times Square is more money that downtown), but 4-days of parking would cost somewhere between $100 and $175. It's expensive, but actually not too bad for parking for an extended period of time. It's worth it - the kids would have the best time!
